Think your gonna have to bite the bullet and start removing trims to see what wires are where. Stick with us fella we'll get ya sorted:thumbs

Yeah different places, and one i trust as trust for the last 15 years and never let me down. A fiver to balance all the wheels! They got it a lot better than the place i paid 6 quid a tyre.

Will try the bearing next... sounds probable as everyone keeps telling me the tyres aren't bad with no sign of buckle at all.

its strange as no steering shake at 0-57 shake from 57-72 ish then no real shake after that. I even had it at the ton the other day (clearing the injectors)and it was like a rock.

Bill

thats weird cos that absolutely spot on for out of balance front wheels. so has to be something related. I'd check bearings first and maybe think about tracking as well....? Its not expensive and its one less thing to worry about or cause tyre wear....but strange. Theres nothing hanging off the hub that shouldn't be there is there? I'm being a bit daft now but any ideas welcome lads...

we might be slow at times, but we get there in the end..

cheers for the replies again.

One of the lads has done a no show in work so I've had to pull extra shifts.

Won't get a chance to look at it till next saturday.

On the suggestion of alignment, that was one of the first things I got done....
it was done with an impressive looking machine with laser attachments on each wheel - got a print out... not that I would know what it means...

only one wheel came up green when they were finished, would have thought they all should have. But waht do I know. Might try and scan it in and see if I can add it to a post as an attachment for you guys to have a look at.

It did stop the pull to the left, but I did find it strange when I put the back wheels on the front - it had a strong pull to the left again...

see if this attachment works....

I'll look more fully tonight but from that it looks to me as though they didn't do anything, brar centre the steering wheel up between the 2 tests, which they should have done anyway.Al the figures are so close and the backs not adjustable anyway but stuff has moved. I'll check their baseline figures tonight or you can do it, they're in the workshop manual.

Best bet for balancing 4x4 tyres is a Agricultural / HGV tyre place, there machines are better suited to it.

I'd appreciate it mate if you do find the time, as not to sound completely useless I probably wouldn't know what I was looking at....lol.:bow

unless it's obvious..

thanks again.

Good tip - might give that a go! :thumb2

yeah great idea, this place was supposed to be recommended for jeeps etc... or so I was told.

Anyone know of a good place in Northern Ireland?

Cheers,

Bill

Just a quick update on the power points

Turned out that one of the fuses under the bonnet (30amp) was in the wrong place. It was in windscreen motor and not in aux power.... swapped it in expecting the wipers not to work but to my amazement everything now works...don't ask me how

excellent...
