pipe hanging down

hi all
i just noticed that i have a rubber pipe/hose hanging down at the back of the mav.its about 2 foot long and comes from the crossmember and dangles onto the rear diff casing.it still has the clip on the end and the metal pipe inside which it was attached to but i cant see where it has broken off from.:doh
i will try to get a pic of it for everyone to see.

Would think zippy656 is correct about the breather pipe for the rear differential. Can you see a rubber pipe coming out of the top of the rear differential casing and going up to the crossmember? If not that's probably what you see hanging down.

if it's like a small vacuum tube, on mine thats the diff breather, :thumb2

Too right,Pete,absolutely disgusting. They shouldn't even be allowed to let them leave the factory that clean. In fact,I think I'll apply for a job covering diffs in muck and goo.

no mate, that was to hold the steel brake pipe in place, but as your picture shows they rot away.:thumb2
