petrol/diesel running gear

petrol v diesel running gear = g/box transfer box diffs any one know if petro will fit diesel for the xtrail ? I know its A long shot asking:augie but have A noisy transmission on my di xtrail & am looking at buying A petrol non runner (ecu packed up)

Ring maindealer, ask for part numbers for the bits your after

i would suspect the ratios will be different on the petrol as opposed to the diesel

Its more if diffs + transfer are same am probably better looking for auto data in:thumb2 my full petrol deisel workshop manual as the download only has petrol after 2005 for ratios also just wondering if anyone on here has done anything with xtrails

I had a quick look and the final drive for both petrol & diesel carries the same part number (383008H500), that suggests that the final drive ratios may be the same?

Obviously the gear and diff ratios are vastly different between the petrol's and Derv's.

Also the Petrols use a Nissan box, and the Diesels a Renault box.

So no, it wont work!!!

Are you sure its your gearbox noisy, or is it the transfer box ?
