That is a character full Battle Scar! Personally I'd have the 4 year old out ready with a shovel and maxtrax!

Some MaxTrax might of been handy!

Lowering the tyre pressure worked a treat... Maybe if I'd done it sooner then I might of been in a better position to avoid the damn post!

Just need the land anchor!

I was looking around thinking this could be it... Time to use the winch in anger! :naughty

Nothing to grab on to! :doh

Oh yeh its right there in the picture :doh:D

I got my land anchor from the overland show in Avon when I went with don-simon, I bet there will be a few at the show this month!

You did right looking after the little un but jeez I’d be gutted to cause damage like that to my motor:doh

:eek::eek::eek:

Oh crap!!!

At first I thought that's fine as you're taking the arches off anyway and replacing them but then I read the text and looked at the pictures again properly.

Glad you got out safe.

Gutted! I’ve done some minor damage to mine whilst out but OUCH nothing like that. It might buff out but don’t hold your breath :eek:

I felt a little sick at 1st... But, it coulda been worse! It's only metal and can be fixed!

This will spur me on to get the arches done. I'm gonna go and see a guy tomorrow or Tue, see what he thinks about buffing them out! :lol

It will be fine Jay, a bit of poly filler and some gloss paint you would never know lol. Seriously good luck I know it’s gut wrenching but these things happen and as already said it’s only metal
Cheers

Feel for you mate, been there myself.
Afraid these things come with the hobby.
My truck had an argument with rocky bank.
Only way was to keep driving and cringe at the sound of rock on metal.
At least no one was hurt and the trol lives on :thumb2

That's it mate.

Live by the sword, die by the gate post!

They make for good campfire stories! :camping:

The Trol preformed awesomely! Maybe if I had of let the air out of the tyres a little sooner, it might of given me a little more room through the gate!

This will spur me on for my 'Air On Board' mod that I planned for this year. :naughty

My dedicated off road motor has all wheels tubed and I carry a 12 volt air pump that will put over 65 psi into my trailer tyres (it is a suspension pump from a Volvo and works very well) I will post some pics of my off road Mav and the damage it has sustained tomorrow, but well done for getting out of what was a very tricky situation you could so easily have got that bolt jammed between your two doors and not been able to move at all, close call I think, given the circumstances with your lad, Rick

Indeed Rick, the inormaty and severity of the situation sinks in at home with a cup of tea in hand!

You can see in the pics how close that bolt was to being between the doors... (My decision to just drive at this point feels right... If I had taken it any more gingerly I might of got stuck!)

I suppose, if it had of come to that it would of been a 3-4 mile hike down hill and across a river with the youngen down to the Land Owners home. I would of hated to disturb him on a Sunday to come and lend a hand to some chump who get himself stuck...

... Worse yet, it means he would of rescued me with his Land Rover! :lol

We couldn't have that now could we!?

Oh, and it would be awesome to see some pics of your Mav Ric! :thumb2:D:thumb2:D

Bit of t-cut and it'll polish right out... :thumbs

Well done getting her out bud, damage is fixable, we've all been there...

That's the one that did me Rob.
I was going the other way.
Just to add insult to injury I bottomed out on the diff and had to reverse back:doh

Thats an awesome pic Rob! :lol

I think the most annoying part about having to have it fixed is the money! That's money off potential future mods. :doh

My sunroof is void... It works, but you'd have t be a racing snake to get out of it! There's a roof rack in the way! :lol
