I trust the 2" receiver system as it's used widely in the US and they tow some huge loads!

This won't fit on our UK tow bar assemblies anyway... Totally different set up! :doh

Depends on the tow bar dude, would have fitted the one on my Y61.

I trust the receiver but the fact it's not legal here (yet) is a major issue for me as you're stuffed in an accident.

Passenger window motor picked a fine day to pack up! Just after I'd rolled the window down too! :doh

Just like the time my rear passenger window did on one of our meets!

I haven't finished yet, but I've painstakingly gone thru this thread and tried to re-add as may pictures as I can since Photobucket decided not to host without payment!

It feels like it's been an age since I've actually done anything on the Old Girl, so I thought that I might prepare the 3" de-catted down pipe for fitting...

Welded a threaded bung top and centre for the EGT probe, then set about wrapping it in Titanium Heat Shield as I know the heat shield on the car will not go back in once its out. (Plus it rattles a lot!)

That's a tidy job Jay!!!! I like that :thumb2

Didn't even know that stuff existed!!!

Aye, it's decent stuff like.. Cheap as chips too. I think I paid £6.00 for 10m.

Used it before on bike exhausts and it works really well! :thumbs

I use it on my bike headers. After a good few heat cycles it does lose the dark colour a bit though.

That's a lovely machine Fubby!

I'm not so fussed about the colour really, its buried in the engine bay... Just thought it's a better idea than messing on with the old rattly tin heat shield!

Wow, what's that?, looks like a modern retro gs

My mate at work next to me used to service those, he said they were lovely quiet bikes being oil cooled.

The only issues he seems to recall with them funny enough was the manifolds going blue on them after a few thousand mile, he'd replaced countless systems under warranty apparently.

He said they are also very well priced compared to the likes of the GS series etc :thumb2

I moved from a GS adventure to this as I wanted something simpler. No electronic suspension, no rider modes, just a basic bike with great character.
I love it and don't regret the change even though people thought I was mad changing "down".

It is. I've raised the back by 30mm dropped the pegs by 20mm and raised the bars slightly and it is now very comfortable, and more stable at low speeds.

I sold my GSA last year and haven't replaced it yet... Can't afford too! :(

But I just love the Boxer engine... Soooo much character!

Have you ever thought about re-routing your exhaust? :naughty
