Has it just been me or has everyone had problems getting onto the forum

Sorry to be thick - but has the lay out change?

Bat21, been doing site stuff.

Been taking a little longer than he planned

This has got me rather worried actually that there are still members out there that may be struggling

What did you do out of interest to get back in? Was it a shortcut or a bookmark you were using?

personally I had to use google to search for the site

I deleted my original link from my ipad home page, and searched internet and reloaded and saved it again to my home page. Thing is, it remembered my password.

thats what i did as well.i put in handle and password though.

I've had so many problems trying to get on I rarely bother and go to another site now. I have to google it and keep getting the wrong page so lose interest. I've now added this to my home page.

problem

I had to clear my history and start a new link/ shortcut as the old one did not work

ive suggested this on the general facebook account that covers our trucks

nissan terrano and ford maverick owners club as opposed to this club's page

to search again, or to remove old bookmarks/favourites

I deleted favourites/bookmarks etc, in all machines, phone, tablet and laptop, googled the club, got into the page with every section, NOT the 'home'page I used to get.

I think the change/modification/revamp.......call it what you will, has stuffed up this site and forum access......bit miffed really.

The old adage comes to mind.....if it ain't broke, don't fix it........:nenau

www.nissan4x4ownersclub.com is where it has been at for many years now, not sure what bookmarks you guys have 'book marked'.

It wasn't broke, but if we hadn't have moved you would be seeing nothing right now. The old server was being decomssioned so we had to get off.

The server move, which was being handled by the guys in the data centre, was a joke. They feked it up big style.

The upshot being, I decided to move the site my self to a much faster server based in Germany. If folks have been having problems finding the site then unfortunately there is nothing I can do about that.

The code that was running the original home page is not supported by the version of PHP that we are now running. But, if folks had simply typed the above URL into a browser they would have found the place.

As someone has said somewhere here, the worlds DNS servers can take up to 48 hours to point to the sites new IP address, this should have been the maximum amount of time that folks couldn't find us.

I think part of the problem is, most of us found this site while searching on Google (etc) for something specific wrong with our car, and the link from google was to that specific part of the forum, then once we finished reading that part, we bookmarked the next sensible place we got to, in my case, it was the "show todays posts" URL, and for others was the page it took you to, when you pressed the home button, both links now no longer work, and return a nasty error. Ironically its a downside to the forum having been so reliable for so many years, we have never had to question the links we saved until now.

That's exactly what happened to me, I'd bookmarked the "todays posts" page and all I got was an error message and a white page, however, if I navigated to the main page and followed the links again, I just bookmarked them again :thumb2

Not had any problems myself :thumb2
I must be special :lol

I finally did yet another Google search and here I am again, exsisting bookmarks link to dead pages.
Is it all done now? :thumbs

Im still using my old bookmark:nenau

I was too. I deleted it & saved a new one, but it looks the same.

What I used to see was latest post down the center, some sub menus to the left top. It was a good way to view the forum, better than it is now.
