Hey chaps.

after the MOT, i plan to do some body work jobs. I need to remove both front arch covers, and repair rust. Once repaired, i need to paint, but where do I get the correct paint from?

my colour is that funny Mauve colour...or is it purple, i dunno...

take the truck to halfords, they can match using the paint code, if you only want a spray can, if you need a litre or more than it will a vehicle finishers. again they match using code. :thumbs

Just get some second hand wings. Popular colour and pretty cheap on fleabay. Half hour job to whip your wing off(10 mins on mine :lol)

It was described to me as aubergine.....my first new Maverick on an S plate way back when....

If you yellow page/google/poynt or whatever theres a suprising number of paint mixers ad suppliers around.

Most can make up aerosols from match charts and codes off the vin loads cheaper than halfords and main dealers :thumb2

Did pretty much the same thing myself. Bought half a litre of basecoat and laquer to go with it.
All from a proper paint supplier that colour matched it with his book of swatches (is that the right word?)
Colour match is a frickin mile out!
(Not that it bothers me )

i might try Wood Autos as Pete suggests as they arent too far from me. Im not bothered for an exact perfect match, thats pointless, but i just want to repair the damage and spray over the primer, i really cant be bothered with laquer etc but ill do it as part of the fun!

If you do basecoat like I did, you have to use the laquer. It is part of the process.

ok, i will do that, shame they cant do an aerosol thats everything, in one...!

They can, it's called 2pack, 2k or whatever.
The stuff I used was basecoat + clear applied with a spray gun.
If you are not that fussed and just want to tart it up a bit go to your loacal autopaint place and ask if they can mix an aerosol for you. If you really couldn't give two hoots go to Halfords. Personally I would leave it rusty before using Halfords paint.
