Just like to say how glad I am to be a member on here :D
I've recently been doing up a VW Passat for our impending drive to froggie land for some ski action.
Now on here a question is posted and within minutes a blow by blow answer with pics, links and explanation arrives , clear and simple.
On this other forum I've had to play 20 questions everytime I make an enquiery
:doh So tedious and not at all big or clever.
Cheers me dears :beer
PS the search function is still shite here though :lol

I have been reading a Toyota forum, and they are the same on there, it takes 30 posts just to find out something fairly simple, and 28 are just asking why you need to know this info, as the main stealer should be able to do that for you!!!

PS the search function is still shite here though :lol

So true...

Totally agree about other forums, often there's too many people being clever and being up their own anal glands:lol

Disagree, our search facility is the best. Have you not tried the uncle rustic search, he's awesome at finding things:thumbs

Hope you're ok Rustic:thumbs

I wholehearted agree with your viewpoint!!!!

Seems we've avoided intaking any wa****s at all :thumbs

Long may that continue

There's nothing wrong with the search function on here.

You just put it in as a normal question in the box and up pops multiple answers, usually comprehensive.

By the way, why is there the word "Search" in the title bar area? I clicked on it once and typed in something and got some random stuff?

:augie

We are very lucky on this forum though. The N Gauge Forum can be pretty anal as well, you have to spend a lot of time to sort the wheat from the chaff.

I too have found that posted questions on the likes of BMW, Mercedes, Hyundai and Jeep forums to name but a few often never get any answer or if its a USA one then you get Red Neck daft replies !

Maybe the subscription helps as we want to give everyone their moneys worth !

We are definitely greater than the Sum of our Parts to quote an old saying.

The Ford Transit forum was the only other good one I've ever come across.

:nenau

Banshee, think you need to join another forum. I reckon you'll get plenty chances to use that picture :lol

I've been quite fortunate with my forum choices (or maybe vehicle choices) as every one I've joined has been very good regarding questions & answers.

Omega, MG, Monaro & the Terrano.

At the end of the day, no matter how daft the question is, if you don't know you ask, you get an answer & then you know :thumb2

We can't all know everything.

All depends on the forum and how it's moderated.
When I was in the Frontera owners group(still am even though I don't own one)
The guys on there are brilliant.
One guy drove down from Nottingham to mine to plug his laptop in to read the fault code I was getting when I had a problem and wouldn't take a bean for it:thumb2
Also had alot of help on the diahatsu owners club whenever I needed it :thumb2
I do like this forum and check in most days but do find it a bit boring at times:nenau

It's only boring ' cos Banshee finally managed to get his spare steering wheel apart.

:lol

The vw t4/t5 forum wasn't too bad.

I've just joined mig-welding.co.uk forum, I'm glad I did, no question is too daft (luckily :D) and everyone is proper friendly. We got onto subject of how to hold and support the mig gun after I asked a question, one guy the next day while he was in his shed/man cave took a load of very high quality pictures of him demonstrating holding the gun for different welds etc and posted them up for me with a few explanations of what he was doing!!!!

I got booted off the Hyundai Forum for being honest.

I got barred when I gave some feedback about issues I had with the local Hyundai dealer.
I used no bad language and did not actually name the stealer I had spent £623 with them and they decided not to replace the water pump as I had requested in writing when they quoted me for the drive belt replacement, cambelt change, water pump, and a reluctor ring.
I suspect they had forgotten to fit the pump and had finished the job when I asked if they had fitted a new water pump as requested. They gave me some guff about they had never had one leak before, the Santa Fe had done 80k miles and whislt they were doing the belt the water pump was an easy job. They took the price of the pump off the initial quote then added on some pulleys they said it needed.

When I did a visual check under the bonnet a couple of days afterwards I found a cover bolt so loose it was sticking out by half an inch ! It did make me wonder if they had fitted the cambelt with the same care
Last time I glanced I was still banned !
