So I was only meant to be taking the side steps off but, I ended up doing some other bits

The axle and complete under body will be painted in the next couple of weeks, in black not red hehe :thumbs

Then I went all boy racer haha

Then I poped the roof rack back on :clap

I do have to say I much prefer the truck with the side steps on!:bow

You don't happen to have any like this kicking around do you? I need some welding done on the cills so I'm taking bits off so he doesnt have too lol but the side steps are in pretty poor condition with one of the brackets actually rotten nearly off... :(

thats a trailing arm :thumb2 don't ask what its actual purpose is apart from that & the others holding the axle to the chassis

It's a panhard rod actually. Keeps the axle from moving side to side. :thumb2
 
Seen it on mine now lol stops axel swinging out of the side of the truck lol think it was because mine was not red I didn't see it lol

sorry I'll stop now............but I see the jack propped on a block of wood......................don't forget the axle stands etc and blocking up before you get underneath to paint......

Yeah too right.

If using a jack then maybe two other methods to support.

However, jacking on soft ground aghhh... better get used to the soil :eek: you might jus end up being buried in it... six foot down.

I know, :( I actually only used the jack to lift the wheel 1" of the ground to take it off to paint the drums I painted the rear rod with all 4 wheels firmly on the ground :lol I don't normally like using the jack as like most of us I don't trust them and I can do most things on ramps or just climbing under it :thumb2
