Is that it, i wouldn't say it doesn't matter after such low mileage. Read up on what it can do.

Maybe after 30-40k+ I would then say it doesn't matter...

Hope you're heating g to cooking g temps first. Changes viscosity to make it thinner. Also are you adding correct quantities of white spirit. If not to either good luck. I blew an engine not doing either of these. Leaving veg oil to cheap skates. Rather use good ol diesel and have no worries.

How the hell did you "blow" the engine on veggie ? :nenau

I always use oil without anti foaming agent as I was led to belive it was bad for your engine????
10 litres for £8 in tesco. Pure sunflower oil no e900.

never used white spirit in any of the cars ive run veg oil in, and never will. use diesel to thin out the veg oil in cooler months. if you blew an engine i imagine it was just a bad engine. google veg oil, very worst it can do is goose the fuel pump on certain cars, as once started diesel cars will run on anything that will burn, 2.7tdi terrano's love the stuff. 20k+ miles on it, with a dash of 2 stroke oil every now and then. cheers.

I would be very careful what you add that is not actually road going fuel, when I got dipped by C&E they were specificly looking for kerosene, red diesel, and I think he said Acatone, as these are not to be used in road going vehicles. My 60/40 mix of veg/diesel with a squirt of redex was fine though. Strangly he did not ask to see a log book of what I put in.

sent from my phone, sorry for any typo's.

I run on bio 99% of the time.bought from a reputable place at £1.00 per ltr with all duty paid.:thumb2

I've just brought £600's worth of Bio making equipment including a dry wash tower so if anyone local wants some cheap Bio, I'll hopefully be knocking it out at about 70-80p a litre

I reckon I'll be processing about 200 litres a week so I'll be doing a batch a week, if I can pick up enough waste i'll let you guys know what I've got spare :D

reading some of the posts its getting tempting now . ref the diesel dip for red kerosene etc,

the instructions i had years back for the home made veg oil was a teaspoon of non kerosene based white spirit per litre of oil. oil had to be used as thinner viscosity and mix and sit for two weeks.

I've been dipped and was on neat Bio at the time. No issues other than the loss of a few drops of liquid gold :lol
So how did this engine blow ? I'm intrigued

I was about to write all of this again but wala! Here it be :thumb2

Believe me I have done far too much info on veggie oil, viscosities and how combustible it is compared to various oils and diesel type additives.

Veggie oil on a scale of 0 - 100 is 43, diesel is 87 so yes mixing something more combustible is not a bad idea, white spirit/ petrol or similar is not a good idea as a diesel lump and pump ect is designed to be lubricated, what you are suggesting would do the opposite and strip it of its lubricant (all be it temporary)

If you are desperate to mix it up (minus diesel and 2 stroke and redex) get an oil based thinner (which is expensive and defies the point of getting cheap veggie oil) Besides, second hand pumps are cheap enough :thumb2
