I've been running veg oil for a couple of days now, very lumpy on tickover from cold for first 4 seconds then fine, drives like a dream, pulls like a naked blonde and smells utterly divine :D

When you start it from cold, wait for the glow plug light to go out, then switch off, and and back on, waiting again, should start much better... You may have a glow plug failed.

no need to double glow as when the glow light goes out the plugs are still heating for about 30 seconds, just wait longer to start.
both my t2 start and run fine from cold no lumpiness at all even -5 and frosts,on wvo.

Mine can struggle if 100% and a bit to cold,

Starts in the end

I wait until the relay clicks

I do 3 sequences of that if it's below 0

for newcomers to wvo.
petrol thins down wvo and helps to dewater wvo if mixed and left to stand for a month or so better than diesel but dampens the octane off the wvo for cold weather use a cetain booster can be used if needed.diesil mixed in helps to ignite wvo as the flash point of wvo is higher than diesil.
i make a mix of 5ltr rug with 10ltr derv together then mix 25% of it to 75% wvo.
as weather warms up leave rug out and increase wvo and see how it cold starts and runs.
i always cold filter too.

Ahh cheers lads, never heard it called rug oop ere, though you were talking dirty, never mind.

Any info on veggie oil new or wvo is great, it's something that's caught my interest recently.
I think I've read on here a couple of times that we are only allowed 1000ltrs a year as fuel, does that apply to wvo too or just the fresh stuff?

leagly 2500ltrs a year free of duty but go over and duty is due on it all even 2501ltr.pays to keep a record of when and how many ltrs you put in.
i have a environmental agency licence so i can collect wvo leagly.did byy one but last one was free.

2500ltrs!!!! That will do nicely :D

I just buy ktc, 68p a litre it works out at, how much cheaper does wvo work out at after cleaning?

I wouldn't venture down that route!!!!! Unless you're turning it into BioDiesel then t's not worth it, I also had a Waste Carriers License that I paid £56 a year for which legally allowed me to collect and carry businesses waste oil, this allowed me to fill out Waste Transfer notes as the creator of the waste can be spot checked and they will have to produce paperwork for how they disposed of their waste.

It's a dirty dirty dirty business and I'm more than happy just glugging the fresh stuff in these days

Nah I haven't got the time or enthusiasm to be cleaning wvo, I looked into it a little while back and decided it wasnt for me. I was jyst wondering how much per ltr it worked out at.

I do actually have a waste carriers licence for my work, I can't take the waste from my jobs to the tip without it, the lads at tip ask to see it, then bloody charge me :lol

Might not be the same type, you have to have certain ones for certain materials, I know when I printed my certificate out for my folder in the car it stated that I was only allowed to carry Waste Cooking Oils :nenau

Yeh mine has nothing like that on it, just a trade waste carriers licence, they probably just gave me the one I needed automatically, mine is for three years at a time too

Does putting veggie oil in affect any seals, like in the pump or anywhere else?

Now that's one I've never seen a definitive answer to myself but it's supposed to weaken the seals in the IP and make it leak, I have heard of companies that will take your pump and reseal it with "Veg proof" seals though, I have a pump off at the moment and when I know mine is starting to fail I'm going to have the seals done and swap it on :thumb2

Hmmm, I wonder if there is a bigger or uprated pump that will go on 2.7, or a way to upgrade it.
