The oil light keeps coming on but when I check the level it looks fine. Oil was changed about 5 months and 3,000 miles back. I suspect it's something to do with the sensor wherever it is.

Any ideas on fixing this?

Thanks

I think this is a common fault on the 3.0.
I'm sure I've read about it on here before. Use the search function to what you can find:thumb2

Have used the search tool but the word "oil" returns 0 results as it's too popular!

My Patrol had this issue bought a upgrade kit from Nissan for just over £100 that solved it completely.

Give them the chassis number and they should be able to tell you if it needed it and has it been doen.

Kind regards

Russell.

Low Pressure Oil Switch I'm led to believe, common problem

Look for a thread by Barrbeast (Rob) and make sure where you take it don't replace the high pressure one as it's way easier to replace and a lot more accessible than the low pressure one

Almost bud ;) the low pressure switch is the easy one to get to above the oil filter on the passenger side of the engine but it's the high pressure switch that goes and is a bugger to get to as it's down below the starter. I think it's easier to get to on the Terranos than the Trols though.

I didn't even bother trying to replace it on my Trol so I just fitted an oil pressure gauge and ignore the oil pressure light :sly Gauge is much better than an on/off switch anyway.

I fitted my one on the drivers side after the light came on, very easy to get to and no oil light since, I got my one from a local auto factors

That's the one, much easier to get to on the Terrano!

Yes, I removed the drivers side wheel (jacked and axle stands Rustic:thumbs) and gained access behind the rubber splash guard, just need to get a deep 28 mm socket, I think it's 28 mm, but can confirm if needed. My switch cost about £6 from a local motor factors and it's still doing it's ob well.
