oil change volume 2.7 2002

According to the specs I was expecting my 2.7 turbo to take about 6l (spec says 6.2) incl filter.
But its on the dip stick mark with only 5l of new oil.
Is there another tank/device on this beast that needs draining?
or is there usually a litre lost in there...

It was nice and warm when I emptied it.

Its standing there still, not started it yet. The dip stick oil looks disappointingly black as well.

I have never got the full amount out on an oil change on any of the terrano's I have owned.
Oil gets black very quick on these engines.:thumb2

It wasnt quite on level ground, worked well for getting the old stuff out but made it look full. slightly over 6l went in in the end.

My r3mR was the same do not worry.
It will seem a bit cleaner when it has run for 5 minutes then after 100 miles its like you never changed it but you know you have!

you need to let it run a minute or two then check your level again,
