Yes that's all taken care of a small fortune on it's own, just got back from the garage minus my troll, it's been diagnosed as a turbo issue. That's gonna be expensive!Sure you get to the bottom of this.
Are you going to have some sort of International/European recovery cover in place for piece of mind should anything happen?
Yeah that’s what I thought, it did drive ok. I have noticed a lot of turbo lag lately, but I have used the garage for the last 20 years and I do trust them and I’m not an expert so I can’t really argue the toss. He was telling me that the ecu had indicated a long term issue with under boosting and that the spindle in the turbo was quite sloppy. I had intended at some point to replace the turbo purely as it’s done 110K but not 3 days before my trip. They have ruled out the TPS so as long as it’s sorted before my trip I don’t have a lot of choice :nenauBut how did it drive after the incident at the lights?
I thought it was behaving ok?
Turbo!...seems a little weird.
Turbo on the 3 is a very different biesty it has variable something or other that is ecu controlled, so yes lots of pennies but quite likely the problem, Rick

Variable Geometry Turbo Rick.
The vanes actually adjust with boost pressure I believe!
I know it doesn't leave much time for you Wheelie, but better you find out now than on the ferry I guess!
Fingers crossed for you to.!

Another reason to keep on top of servicing and using quality oils:thumb2
Hi Blocky I agree, it’s been well looked after mechanical since I’ve owned it but you can’t budget for previous owners, although I have a shed load of history from when I bought it.
An extra bar of boost It'll feel like a supercar:lol Fingers crossed
Cheers, as I’ve said used them for the last 20 years and I have a good relationship with them, I was really hoping they wouldn’t let me down and it seems as they haven’tPleased to hear the good news, sounds like a good garage. Enjoy the holiday and that extra boost.
