Guys I need some advice, took the trol out today drove 15 miles parked up for about 30 mins, started off again only drove very slowly to a set of traffic lights, sat for about 20 seconds in drive waiting for the lights to change, when they did I put my foot down and nothing truck didn’t rev or move, no change in rpm what so ever. I had to put in neutral then back into drive then it pulled away, any ideas as I’m off on Friday to Portugal
Cheers

TDi's are not direct injection, do you mean rotary pump, sorry not meaning to be pedantic, just needing to know what motor you have, Rick

It is the Di that is confusing me, but re your issue, I think it may have been a one off switch issue, they have a neutral switch and the fact that that putting it into neutral and back into drive would possibly back this up, had it been a common rail pump, I might have said pump/ecu issues, but I am not the top guru on these, Rick

Thanks rick, if it helps it’s the same as Davey boy and jay’s

OK looked it up and is rotary pump, so gear lever switch problem most likely, Rick

Thanks rick

Have you got a patrol bible by any chance lol
So is this something that if it became a more persistent problem that I could just link out

It is something that you will need to monitor over time, if it becomes more persistent, then checking the switches and cables for chafing etc will be required, Rick

Hi Wheelie

It's good that Rick is on the case.

What's the condition of your ATF like?
Ruby red or brown and smelly?

Do you use 1 & 2 very often?

Hi Davey boy
Just spent ouch that hurt on a full service and check over, so ATF is brand new and I checked it yesterday just to make sure the levels were good.

If it wasn't even revving I'd be looking at the throttle pedal and the connections as it's drive by wire :nenau

Have you checked the Aussie Trol forums?

Thanks Rob, forgout all about fly by wire as mine is cable, Rick

Oh good shout, I’ll see if I can get it in somewhere local to check it out as I have no time left this week. No not checked Aussie forums

My experience with Autos has been cable also, but it wouldn't hurt just to wake the box up with a prime.
Handbrake on, foot brake on, and just go through the gears to spread some of your new juice through all the canals of your auto box.
From Park through to 2nd and back to Park.
You'll feel a tug in each gear, but that's only gear creep.
3secs in each gear should do it.
If you've just had a service, it might help to get the box to settle down a bit. Hope this helps.

Ps. Always check nissanpatrol.au.com

Taking the day off work tomorrow and taking the trol to the garage to have a look to see if we can see the issue and resolve it before I go away
