Number 1 injector again.

Hi guys, can you knowledgeable crew assist on this one please. I need to replace the number 1 injector (with lift sensor) on my 97 TDI. I removed it this morning to get the details off it but could only find the numbers 667? not to sure about the 7. then under that was 02 and under that was 0010. there was nothing else that i could see. The MAF on this car is the HITACHI one. There was also the numbers on the cable to the sensor which were 66720. I dont know if its the bosch injector or not. Can anybody tell me? If so where is the cheapest place to buy one. My local motor factors couldn,t relate to those numbers, but did say a replacement would be around £300: I know some of you have replaced yours from previous threads. Thanks, TEEBIRD

Just phoned euro parts, he took my reg number, came back with a bosch injector with no sensor on it for £80. Obviously not the one. There was nothing listed with the numbers I have. Tezzer can you remember if yours had Bosch stamped on it or just numbers. Cheers Teebird.

Dav ed, I phoned that place you were given. Took the reg number plus the numbers on the injector, said he would hand the info to an expert who will phone me shortly. Yes you,ve guessed it, no f--king call. Does anyone know if the injectors are not Bosch would they definitely be Zexel or something else? Dont really want to go via Nissan because of cost. The problem on the truck is not really too bad. It starts great and is very muted even in -7. I have a hesitation anywhere between 1200 to 1800 revs. Its stalls quite easy but the performance feels good, more dry than torquay. Seems bit lazy in 1st and second gear. Have checked the injector with meter and its reading open line so sensor is caput. Anyone? Teebird

make you right timbo, since i changed my injector i get a crisper diesel rattle, which i never had before, and much better fuel economy. :thumb2

I had a new one fitted before Christmas. I can't help with part numbers, but can tell you that it was definitely a Bosch branded part (mine's a '98 TDi).

Mine,s not Bosch. I have the Hitachi maf in mine. It was registered Jan 97 so would have been made in 96, making it one of the first TDI,S. I assume its Zexel by what I have read on here. Could anyone confirm that? or was there more than 2 different brands fitted? Thanks, Teebird.

After reading back through all previous posts I managed to check my fuel pump and it is a Zexel! Euro auto parts dont do Zexel, so iam trying the firm who Dav ed mentioned. If anyone knows of a supplier please tell. Teebird. PS, if the new injector is too expensive I will have to go down the breakers rout. Would have to be local to me so I could use the meter on if first. Going off info on here it should read approx 105 ohmes.

Latest update, this is like Sky f__king news. Managed to find an injector for my truck. S and S diesel services of Southampton. 01489 893834 guy called Chris. Very helpful, took him a couple of hours to come back to me but he can get one in the next day. Cost £96 plus vat and a fiver postage, well pleased with that. He can also supply the Bosch ones as well, these are about £168 plus vat, but he did say it may be a bit cheaper. (haggle with him) So mine is ordered and should be here and fitted by next Wednesday. Will give another update then. Tony
