problem is the parts required will break the bank, better to find a used box, found one for Pete easy enough, Rick

what weight were u towing as the auto has a limit of 2tonnes manual 2.8tonnes it might just be that u worked it to hard and a drain and refill may sort it out

got me a bit worried now reading this post as I pull a double horse box with 1 welsh cob in my auto.
when I get chance I will have to get down to the public weigh bridge and see exactly what weight I am towing.
I know the horse box is a light weight which weighs 750 kg.
don't think I will be anywhere near 2 tons when fully loaded with all the tack and everything else.
next job change atf fluid me thinks.

well guys no luck drained the oil and it was really black with a potent burned smell refilled and just the same when cold seem's not to bad but the warmer it get's the worse it gets until its just not there.
The terrano body and chassis is in brill condition so big dilemma. £500 for a second hand box is just to much especially as you cannot guarantee its ok also
AAAAHHHHH:(

You might get a full car for 500 quid.take what you need and sell the rest on and make some money back.

That is about the best I could suggest as well, a recon box will likely cost more, Rick

just a thought before you go spending a lot of money ....... take a look at the radiator ..... at the bottom of it there is a atf cooler .... is it leaking / missing ?
