I took some old batteries & metal to the scrap yard on Saturday. On the way out my Truck weighed (with our lass sat in it & half a tank of fuel) 1860 KG. With me standing on the weigh bridge it went up to 1940 KG............ So working on a full tank, seven adults & any luggage the weight could be close on 2500 KG or more. I realise that our trucks don't come under "dual purpose".
This has got me thinking now & I'm also thinking if I've been told incorrectly by our class instructor :nenau
As a for instance..........
I was chatting to my mate earlier regarding when he took his CPC & his instructor said you could drive a Artic tractor unit with a class two licence providing the fifth wheel was locked or removed................ Our instructor
said you didn't need to remove the fifth wheel or lock it off to drive it.
Working on the above paragraph, who's right & who's wrong
The below web site talks about vehicles under 2000 MGW & I draw your attention to campers as this could be where the misunderstanding has occurred :nenau
I know that I drive a van with a MGW of 3.5 tonnes & I know my speed limits are as my previous post. I apologise for confusing folk even more as I was only going on what my instructor (whom appears to be wrong) told us.
