I'm moving away from my current insurer due to their total incompetence in dealing with my recent accident in Spain. NFU Insurance seem to be ticking all the boxes for me and also include Third Party cover in Morocco which is a huge bonus.

So has anyone had any experience (good or bad) with NFU Insurance?

Heard nowt but good news on the pricing front, including acceptance of points, but its how they pay out that counts as you say - not heard anyone with experience of that, but given that they serve the farming community I'd be surprised if they weren't on top of that.

Who is your existing Bat out of interest?

eShite are my soon to be booted out insurers at the moment... they are cheap but I guess you get what you pay for

NFU don't use brokers and THEY are the insurers not some third hand 2 bit outfit :)

Hmmm - "regulated by the Financial Services Commission in Gibraltar"?? Weird!

To be fair to them, I've always gotten a fair deal from Direct Line.....have paid out promptly when required and premiums are OK - plus they give this 10% for all additional cars.

What hacks me off is when you add a temporary car of a lesser insurance group to your existing single-driver policy, and they charge you extra for it?? whats going on there???? Like I can drive two cars at once or something???:nenau:doh

No experience on claims with NFU but they are a mutual so the customers come first not the share holders. After you're 2nd year you even get a divedend payment - not sure how big as I've not got that far yet.

I like the fact that I can ring up and get to speak to the same person time on time and that generally they are customer focussed. They ring you when they say they will etc. Sure tey don't have long hour call centres etc so you have to call during office hours but we always used to manage and I imagine that is one of the ways they save money.

Not car insurance, but father in law has has his farm insured through NFU, buildings, vehicles etc.
No issues with them paying out, had some gear stolen from a barn - paid out no probs.
:thumbs
I'd insure the T2 with them... but they came out £100 more then Sureterm! :nenau

I am insured with NfU for house land, stock , trailers and t2.:thumbs:thumbs:)

Had a public liability problem with a man and his loose dog they sorted it asp. They are quick with claims but not the cheapest. But you can walk into their office and talk it over in English:lol:thumbs.

I have no complaints:)

Nice to know who you are dealing with:)

My policy goes down yearly if you stay with them for 5 years:thumbs

Good luck hope you are both getting over the nightmare:( Can,t even begin to imagine what it was like for you both. I wish you both well:)

They are £100 dearer than my current insurers but price is no longer my priority... quality of service is now number 1 :thumbs

Thanks Wendy... 12 weeks after the accident and I'm still struggling with things that should be second nature. I'd never heard of Post Concussion Syndrome before the incident... but now know heads/minds are complicated organs.

I know what you mean
I had a bad fall from my horse and landed on my head without my hat.

I still have memory loss:eek: or is it old age I'm not sure:)

Shock is a strange thing too it has no time limit.

All I know is live each day as if its your last the little things don't matter:thumbs
I hope you both feel well again soon:grouphug
Take care

Seen as my last post regarding insurance got hijacked I thought I'd add to this one.:nenau

Well just phoned NFU Direct got similar cover to Direct Line
Fully Comp, Protected no claims, Loan car if mines stuffed, Business class 1 (not goods carrying just me from place to place) £250 XS and I have 3 points.

NFU £414
Direct Line £443

If I fit a second battery (silly me asked about it when she asked about mods) I'll need a certificate of some kind to say it's been proffesionally fitted.

Is it me or do these seem rather steep?

Wife been with NFU for years, bit dearer than most web based companies but service A1
i'm with web company, cheaper to cancel insurance and start afresh than swop ins onto mav from rover 45 (same ins group, mav worth £1K less) i'll be getting quote from nfu. i've found out the easy way about trying to deal with these remote companies.

Hope you are on the mend, and recover 100%

Hi looking for insurance as well after Norwich union increased my premium this year,
but far worse is there dealing with a little incident earlier this year with a foreign driver. :nenau

Have tried NFU but want nearly 600 with class 1 business same as Norwich union, also tried Lv very close in price as well.

But when asked about my mod's to the patrol both only included 3 mods max Brakes, tints, winch,
Never mind the exhaust, both policies did not cover Europe we had to pay extra each time we go.

Then tried Adrian Flux similar quote but there is one big difference all mods are covered and has green lane and rally cover included,
Just awaiting the actual doc's to look over but looking like the best option :clap:clap

insurance

Have you tried Sureterm direct?

Regards Paulp
