We will need to know more, is it Petrol, or Diesel? If diesel, does it have an intercooler? What Year? Don't need the colour...:lol

Welcome to the forum :thumbs.Personally i always start with the basic's with anything so i would start with the fuel filter.Dont bother with cheap ones as ive heard bad review's with them. Also it's well worth paying for the membership as from personal experience the information you will get be second to none.:thumbs:thumbs

Welcome bud :thumb2 +1 for trying the fuel filter first... and paying the £10 membership :D

It has had all filters changed ? And was going to try the site first before joining as a full member

hello fellow welcome to the club, as said check filters first, then i'd check fuel lines in the drivers side rear wheel arch they tend to rot there and let air in

Surely, if it is bad on tick over, but fine under load, then I would have thought it was less likely to be fuel related.

I wonder if it would be more sensor related, like the crank position sensor, or I what about the second switch on the brake pedal, that tells the ECU when you are braking, and cuts the fuel off.

I would go for reading the ECU codes first, and work from there....

Having said that, I think you do need to be a member to get to the datasheet on how to do that.

Could be MAF ? Auto's are Rick's specialty :augie
All sorts of fancy rev adjustment reqd by ECU for this that n the other . £10 get's you more answers :naughty

HI and welcome to the club, nice to read a little bit about you.

CKP sensor.

good day.

Hi and welcome to the club.

Has this problem recently started?
Was it OK BEFORE you changed the filters?
How long have you had the truck, and how long has it been fine?
Have you recently changed the type of fuel, bio or SVO?
What was the last change that you did before it started to run rough?:nenau

A bit like a restore point on a computer, when new software can crash the computer... so what has changed?
best regards,

Rustic

I have had it about 4 weeks as soon as I had it noticed not running as kept cutting out so done a full service straight away and still the problem is the same

Remove mini filter and bin it

Replace main fuel filter

Check fuel lines for corrosion/leaks

Get fault codes read

is it OK when cold, then starts to cut out when engine reaches operating temperature?

Get some clear pipe for fuel pipe, see if any air getting in.

8mm internal.

Oilybits.com say zippy sent you, guys name is Adrian

Yes when engine warms up that is when it cuts out unless I reverse or put car on full lock then that will sometimes do it?went to halfords to get some egr valve cleaner sprayed it into the air intake and took the car for a spin up the motorway, when accelerating on motorway there was a flat spot on the car this happened a few times so don't know if the cleaner was working ? And thanks to everyone who has offered advice

cutting out

Engine cutting out on an automatic is a nightmare.
When its cold you are running much richer so problems show up after warm up.

I would check basics like all induction pipework on the inlet side, air cleaner, turbo & intercooler pipes etc. Then check for inlet manifold leaks as bolts can shake loose.

As others have mentioned mini filter if it has one and fuel filter. After that get fault coded read.

Ok 1999 nissan terrano 2.7td automatic yes with inter cooler :doh

wtf.....
sorry to intrude on your thread.

but..........................
I was told if its a td it wont have an itercooler or scoop:confused:
just the tdi

yes it is a TDi, so all fly by wire, sounds to me like a problem I had today on my very ill used off roader, check the throttle assembly extreme top of pedal, it should be silky smooth, if it is sticky the ecu go's into limp mode and pedal becomes very sensitive, Rick
