Morning All,

New to the site! Just about to to put my 1996 2.7TDi LWB back on the road and will be looking for lots and lots of advice!!!

Anyone know of any off road stuff I/We can get involved with up near Elgin/Inverness? Muddier the better!!!!

Cheers. Alec.

Welcome!

Lots of helpful people and advice on here.

I think there are a couple of mud bashers up that way. I'm sure they'll be along in due course.

:thumbs

Welcome mate, advise is as much as I can do from down south, Rick

cheers guys,

First bit of advice i'm after is...............What's the recommendation for a good all round tyre for both on-road and off-road? i wont be doing anything too deep and boggy..........yet!!!

I've just fitted a set of General Grabbers on my T2 lwb. Very happy with them. Nice and grippy on wet roads and nice and grippy off road.

:thumb2

I'm not a mud basher. Just occasionally off road on fields and tracks.

howdy and welcome :thumb2 good choice on vehicle, is it rust free?

wheres the pics? :naughty

back on track..

Depends on budget,

Event ML698, great all round All Terrain tyre, cheap too.

If cost is not so important get either mud or AT BFG's cant beat em :naughty
(theres a reason they are the most expensive)

I know many still think that BFGoodrich AT's are the best, but I've recently been to a shoot where the L200 with BFG's got stuck, the following L200 (identical model, similarly loaded), pulled it back out and then drove on through, on it's General Grabbers. Both new trucks, both with new tyres.

Just sayin'.

:augie

Yes there's a reason they're more expensive, but it may not be the reason you think.

:augie

Don't forget, L**d R***rs are more expensive.

Just sayin'.

:lol

I have nothing but praise for mine, man they've had some abuse but they've lasted ages!!!! That's why I'm taking my time fitting the 33's :lol

I'm just too attached to them :lol

Nah, we know you.!

You're just a hoarder.

BFGs last ages but there's other tyres that are just as good performance wise when you get into the muddy stuff and will still last a reasonable time.

I had General Grabber AT's on the Trol before I got my first set of muds, they were a good tyre.

Since then I've had various muds but my favourite are definitely the Cooper STTs I've got now, great offroad and wear really well :D
