Hello,
I already joined the forum some time ago but haven't been too active ;-) I just wanted to take the chance to introduce myself: my name is Joerg, 45 years old ... and I'm from Germany so I'm not a native English speaker ;-)
I bought an '97 Terrano II (actually a Ford Maverick) 2,4i 118hp 5 door ... with lots of rust - what I figured out some months ago. The Terrano was supposed to be a supplement to our "modern" cars ... to get the firewood and construction material home, take the dog for a ride ... Actually the Terrano turns out to be a new hobby - what I wanted to avoid. First of all was to buy a welding machine and to fix (most) of the common areas of rust (wings at the back, under the backset, front wing holder, sill ends).
Here's the whole story (in German) with lots of pics: http://www.offroad-forum.de/viewtopic.php?t=71338&highlight=
This winter I'm planning to get the front done ... most problematic parts will be the fenders ...
Regards
Joerg
