Hi all im Scott From Plymouth :thumbs

Im a bit of a Jap car nut and have had lots of Jap toys over the years! (Ill make a thread in the "other Vehicles" section soon).
I currently run about in a Classic Datsun but I now travel a bit to see my Girlfriend each evening so needed something a little more comfortable and reliable.
Ive never had a 4x4 but fancied one without breaking the bank! I looked at Vitaras but they were to clunky and uncomfortable for me!
I got recomended to look at Mavericks/Terranos............ so I did :D

Well after 2 months of looking and finding nothing local to me (most were way up north!!) I found one on ebay In Plymouth so i went for a look.
After a good look about and a drive round the block I drove this away for £800 :D .........................

Well its a 1996 T2 SE Touring 2.7TDI with 150k on the clock.

There is a few little bits that need sorting like a leak in the clutch fluid system and a few stuck windows but not much to worry about.

I love driving it and its soooo comfy

I plan to do some light off roading with it as well so im gonna jack it up a bit and make it look the part too lol:D

Well i hope u like it and ill be on here often

looks very nice for the price. Not even bubbling on the front arches

welcome

so what mods you thinking of then ?

looks like the front could do with coming up an inch or so..

nice!

btw that last shot in dark, reckon tyres look slightly oversize....

not much room in arches to front and rear, unless as zippy says
needs lifting to factory height anyway.

Welcome, that looks a fine truck especially at that money:thumb2

cool and welcome to a good club some1 else from devon im nr exeter i have a standard t2 x reg and do some greenlaning with no problems where do u go off roading nr plymouth

Cheers guys!

Yea I think the tires are a little oversized! I'm not too sure what should be on it? Nothing rubs tho!

Is raising up the front as easy as winding up the tortion bars? Do these sag over time then?

I haven't been off roading yet as I've only had the truck a few days but lots of my friends do it so I guess I'll find out soon lol

Tyres are way too small, get some proper big boots on :sly
Looks good to me :clap

What size r on there now think if 15"alloys then 235 75 15. or with 16"alloys 235 70 r16 in the pick looks like u had the car up on the grass on the drivers front wheel will look low if all 4wheels are not on level ground and yes the front version bars can sag easy to lift the truck back to standard ride height don't even have to jack car up to get underneath car:thumbs

I'm running 235/75/15 Falken-RV on the rear and 225/75/15 Goodyear Wrangler AT/R up front.

I'm planning bigger rubber after the lift :D

The truck was on level ground in the last pic with the moon! Sounds easy enough to adjust tho!

yh yh yh lovely car yh lovely 4x4 yh yh BUT, I WANT PICS OF THAT DATSUN please!!!!

what Datsun do you have? I'd be loving a 160y...dont ask me why....I just love 'em!!

p.s. great Terrano for the prince mate, absolute bargain! Hitachi MAF so thats easy to clean, probably Zexel pump I dunno, but that car looks really flipping good for £800!!! Nice find, love it!

Make sure they're all the same size when you get the new ones :thumbs

Yea I was gonna get a matching set of tires next time

What are these like to run on veg oil????

Oh and the datsun is a rare 1978 140y coupe with a 5 speed dog box!
I'll put up pics when I'm next on my computer :)

Veg oil will be fine but you'll need to mix with some diesel at this time of year. 50/50 easy but I ran mine neat and put up with the lumpy start:augie
Tesco have a deal on at the mo £4.50 for 5litres :D
Veg oil will also pick up any sludge and muck in the tank and this will choke the filter. Once that's out the way you're good to go and save loads a money

Excellent!!! So there is no other mods required and the fuel pump is totally fine with it?
It's due a service anyway so I may run some veg through it first then change the filters! How many tanks do u think will clear the sludge?

Saving money FTW :)

The only mods you could do is to fit various warming devices for winter running with neat veg. Dont bother though just stick a bit of diesel on it. I dont know how many tanks as it depends how much yuk is in there to start with:augie
Just go with it and when things start to slow down a bit, check your filter:rolleyes:

Cool I'll give this a try! Need to see if my uncle still has his cash and carry card ;)
