Here's one load from the weekend. My 1962 McCormick B414 with my 1930s Corn Mill on the front of the trailer and there's also a 1 ton digging bucket on the back that you can't see. All in, about 2 1/2 Tons i rekon

It's already inherited a name similar to that and i'm on the lookout for a suitable private plate to avoid any long standing gags .

Pulled well though, load was a little unbalanced but plenty of power. Would have preferred an auto box but not too many of them around in the 3.0 LWB spec

You'd have been lucky mate!!! The 3.0 auto is the holy grail!!!

You're better off with the manual for towing though as the braked towing weight for the auto is less than its manly manual brother

Each to their own!!!! We're all happy with our own trucks and the way we style them that's what makes us unique, we are a diverse group of SWB, LWB Manual, Auto, 2.4, 2.7, 3.0, Maverick, Mistral Terrano, Patrol lovers.

Each and everyone of us loved as much as the next member

The best towing vehicle I've ever used was a Disco 5 auto (cue the abuse :lol). So much grunt, comfortable, quiet and extremely stable. I never really had enough behind it to know there was anything on. My heaviest tractor is 2.5T and the trailer is 600kgs so only 3.1T.
Unfortunately, they are ruinously expensive and as this is a 3rd car, I couldn't justify it. Also cough up £550 road fund license whereas the PUF is only £295. It will also tow 3006kgs so should be just about OK with the big tractor on.
On the subject, the worst towing vehicle I've ever used was a Shogun Sport. No power, noisy, unreliable (never towed when I bought it with 50k miles on. Fitted a towbar and it needed a new clutch after 3 months) and extremely thirsty considering the small engine.
Pleased the PUF up to now and hopefully it gives me many happy years :thumb2

Very good towing vehicle and handled this load with ease. Load was properly distributed this time which helped.
The tractor is not heavy (probably 2T or so) but the weight is high up making it quite unstable but with this trailer, it's nice and low down.

On another note, where are the fuses located please. I think the fuse has gone for my heated rear window (I can hear it clicking when i push the button but no light and no action)

In the download section of this forum there are all the manuals, they should point you in the right direction.

Oh, but you will need to cough up your £10 membership fee for those, but you'll save way more than that in time and effort.

Fuses are under a little hatch that just pulls off below the headlight and wing mirror adjustment controls :thumb2

Also worth checking that the two plastic push on terminals are in good shape too either side of the rear window.

You can use a multimeter to check the voltage across the lines themselves, use the door hinge as an earth and use the positive probe to check for 12v ish :thumb2

Picked this up for my brother the other day.

My late Mum had a couple of Mini Clubman Travellers both Automatics one was finished in Antelope as I recall the side wood grain mouldings were rivited on. Her replacement one was a dark Green with painted stripes instead. She never had the wooden ones they were much earlier none Clubman versions I think.

The Clubmans are fetching good money these days.
