Sorted the fuel filter housing for good I hope! Sick of the diaphragm leaking air! The fuel pump is run on a switch so if it does leak back I can bleed it easily!! Amen

will the lift pump suck from tank on own as most of them need to be primed to suck,or mounted below tank out so self priming.

Self priming pump, so it just pulls the fuel from the tank :thumb2
Well spotted Jim, it is a 300 tdi filter housing ;)
The pump is not needed once primed but its there if it drains back due to a leak or a filter change.

This is the same one that I've just brought, why don't you do the Eckes VW Oil Cooler trick like I'm going to and warm up the fuel filter :naughty

I'm waiting for it to be delivered :bow

Just looked at this again and I can see an error in the setup I think :nenau

Can anyone else see it or am I being an idiot? Even so can't see it affecting the system in any way shape or form

It's a landrover part so it will break :lol

No No No ignore me, it is set up right, I was being a bellend, just looked again and completely overthought it

Well its working great so far, even though it is a Landrover part!! No leak back over night and no air in the pipes at all :thumb2
Banshee me old mucker, I'm going to fit one of them jobbies you mentioned but on another T2 I'm working on to use as a works van! Putting too many miles on the D3 and it hurts my pocket  so its going to be veg and bio all the way!

Craig you won't regret it mate, I'll give you a full report of what it runs like when mine gets fitted, should be delivered to Work first thing next week :bow The heat exchanger alone works well but I think my filter i'm using is restricting my fuel flow and causing my code 21, that's why I made the move coupled with the fact that I read in a farming magazine that MANN actually made stamped and approved BioDiesel filters that can withstand the heat of the water system so I was all over it.

Look forward to seeing how you get on with it then mate. No point running veg or bio in the off roadbed as it does not do the mileage! The other t2 thought will be a run about so want it to be as cheap as poss!! Do you think the heat exchanger is necessary with that filter housing your getting??

Got people I've spoke to on the vegetable oil diesel forum that have done serious mileage like it and said you wont look back once you've done both, I'm just utilising wasted heat energy from the heated water by the engine to warm fuel system hotspots, the filter idea is a work of genius when you look it the individual pieces that have been constructed to modify it and BioTuning manufacture the parts and are a reasonable price too.

It was a technique first used by a German Veg Oiler called Eckhard Wernick, I did some research into him, he's run old Mercedes diesel engines on WVO for 500,000 miles on the same engine, he knows what he's doing and must be some relation to Rudolph Diesel :lol :lol

The heat exchanger alone lets me run down to -2 at the minute on pure SVO before I see any effects that make the car underperform, I did a IR temp reading on the pipe that feeds the IP after everything had been ran through the heat exchanger the other day and this was the reading at idle.

£45 quid mate Seach BioTuning heat exchanger :thumb2

Just had the call from the deliveries hub at work, my parcel has been delivered, I will unbox and take pics later because I know you all like pics :naughty

Cheers panelbeaterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Banshee bring on the pictures :clap

You asked and you shall receive!!!!

Only problem is the guy has sent me a normal WK842/2 filter and not one of the Bio approved ones, the glue is meant to be EN14214 Bio proof and there is only half of the filter media inside but in a cage so it doesn't swell using Bio or Veg
