2 of these arrived today, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/310658607396?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649
I made an offer of £8 for both + £1.68 post. It took a month to get here.
1 of my buttons is a bit worn so needs a firmer press, but the other is just a touch. :clap
Just need to get it cut now and swap over the transponder. Then find another key on ebay with transponder so I can finally get a spare sorted.

I had these with my Zafira, great idea, saves wear and tear on your pockets!

hmm I've just been looking at the key blades. The flip blade is longer than my original... Will it cause a problem in the cutting machine? Or will it just trim the length. Other than that it looks exactly the same :nenau

Aghh wrong blade. It has the 'newer' bigger blade and the are completely different profiles. Key cutter has cut me a correct blade but it doesnt fit into the flipper. So he has recommended cutting and brazing (brass to brass)
He says to cut just about where the pin is laid across the keys and Braze the end with the slot for the pin(22) from the blank blade onto the other. Then refit to the flipper by tapping the pin through the hole in the next post. What you reckon is it doable?

looking at it, could you not just file the new blade end down to the same profile as the one with 22 on, it looks about the right size.. then just file a grove across for the pin.

Bit of a pain to file the groove, offered it up loads and nope, a bit more, hmm a bit more  Good job it was brass :augie

Filed the lugs which was easy to do. And then the groove for the pin. No pics of groove. Key works well :clap

Nice work.... we seem to get there between us, although I Like this putting an idea forward, and having someone else actually do the work..:lol:lol

Anyone know the size of the tiny screws that fasten the fob together? I dare not tighten them again or I will never get them out.

just measured them lol. They are either 1.5mm x 6mm OR 2mm x 8mm

Laptop screws? I will look at them. I think they are from tiny model stuff as they are self tappers with a pointy end.

Here is the finished flip key with Nissan badge and transponder fitted:

I must admit, having had the problem of trying to get "Tiny" screws a few times over the last little while, when ever I am about to throw away some cheap plastic thing, I take the screws out of it and put them in a Jar... there is still never the right size in there when I want one though...:lol

Last time I wanted a small one like you describe, I went to the Poundshop and went round looking at the childrens toys, and stuff like that, looking for anything with small screws in, in my case the ones that held the battery box shut was ideal, and bought one of those as a donor..

Would I be able to use these?

These are my keys but they are a bit ugly and a nice flip key would be a nice change
