hey, nice one martin i really appreciate that mate thanks!

well see what happens, Ricks reckons my clutch is perfect, so i might be ok. i wonder if its just my driving, or it is slipping, but its an adjustment issue?

just too fusy my friend... drive it until it brakes

im starting to think you like to worry:lol:lol

oh i dunno mate, i think because ive had bad break downs in the past, i get jumpy at the slightest odd clunk or noise!

cheers rick, i am a worry-pot!

if its perfect, i dont want to replace it, i wonder if its just some adjustment, or me just not driving it right?! i tell you what I do a lot, I dont let the clutch out very quick, especially when reversing, it sjust so different to my mazdas. Is it correct, to just let the clutch out quick?

No that is just for testing, stop worrying about it it is fine, just drive the motor, Rick

Hi
my clutch playin up difficult to select gears . just been quoted £122.00 for a sachs clutch kit and £150.00 to fit it.seems reasonable just wondered if anyone used sachs clutch any good.
regards.neil

havent heard of that one mate, but, if its the right clutch, the price is good, and the fitting is good (4 hours labour approx).

he changed the gearbox/transfer box on me other t2 £130 so i can trust him. trouble with me i worry to much.i spend a fortune on bits that probably dont need changing.if i dont like the feel of a clutch i change it had clutches on 3 motors last year.

have you done the clutch test?

might be that it just needs fluid, or a new clutch cable perhaps, have you had your guy check it first?

had it on lft today we tried bleeding together made a bit of difference. clutch bites quite high up .all gears select fine with engine off but once started 1st very difficult others ok but notchy.

hey peeps.

so after the MOT repairs, Tony says that my clutch IS on its way out "its just starting to slip"

well, this kinda confirms my fears and why I posted this thread. It still feels the same tome, so ill probably be ok for now, but, ive decided ill get it done within a few months. Any particular clutch you guys can recommend? i want long lasting heavy duty, i should be towing this year, so want it right.

Anythign else i should have done at same time? new clutch fluid? new gear box fluid??

i got my new clutch off ebay sachs oem.not that i needed it.when it was removed showed no real signs of wear. also flexi hose to slave was knackered and swelling when clutch pedal pressed so arm not moving enough.oh well at least i know when new one was fitted. i also changed fluid ,gearbox oil . doing transferbox this weekend.apparently shouldnt tow on a new clutch till done 500 + miles.

What did Jim stick in his???
As for heavy duty for towing as the standard set up will tow 2.8ton I shouldnt panic too much about a small caravan... or huge one on the back! :thumb2

cheers guys, yeah the caravan is pretty small, so ill not fuss too much over which clutch. glad you mentioned this pipe, ill get one of them just in case, [plus, ill get them to do the gearbox fluid and clutch fluid, due a service anyways!

some people do away with the pipe...

my caravan is 22 foot long.. dead easy to tow
