Varta are very good but I went for a Lucas 110ah Marine Leisure Battery and it gets an absolute hammering!!!!!! £90 I think I paid for it and the warranty ran out last December with the supplier but still got 2 with Lucas I think

I bought a Varta 2 years ago here in Spain at a cost of 168 euros and
where the warranty is only 2 years - after 26 months it packed up! I now have a Yuasa!

Funny you say that, I've just been reading that they don't like the heat much but they seem to favour the cold more :nenau

I've always bought Bosch when I can afford it and have always been happy but I guess others will have different experiences. My work van has a Delco battery, has covered 265k miles in 12 years and is still going strong! Now I look back at this, it's no use to you whatsoever so apologies and good luck :)

Since the demise of my Varta battery I've been told that no batteries like the heat, and that 2 years is about a normal max life for a battery over here, that must be the reason Varta only give a 2 year warranty in Spain.

Varta battery

can any one recommend good battery

I am a Varta fan just fitted one on my Santa Fe.

TBH there are a lot of good makes around that give 4 and even 5 year warranty (some Yuasa).

It goes without saying watch the specification as sites like Eurocarparts show cheap Bosch Batteries but when you look in detail at things like cold cranking amps and amp hours they are often below the OEM spec.

You get what you pay for in terms of construction and life span e.g.lead acid, Gell or Absorbed Gas Mat technology, calcium tin alloy etc.
