need help with possible mods

but your on standard rims arent you ? you need big offset if your going up with the tyres

what do you recommend? cos i stuggling 2 even find terrano steel wheels

Just say what size tyre you want and what rim etc. I went for 0 offset which on these trucks is like running a 20mm spacer on standard rims.

So 265 75 16 on standard rims is not doable

31" and over with arb removed you will need bigger offset

33" you will be doing some slight metal work too the back of front arch and the front of back arch about cill level :thumbs they just dont fit there

they will but 60 quid a pair for good quality ones , and trust me you dont wana scrimp on spacers. 30 mm will do but you will gain 2" with good wheels if your luck a little more

the thing you all forget when you take the arb off you have in bike terms full floating suspension . and as much as the wheels will come out of the arches they will go up inside too so lift will only give you space at the top of the inner arch and not the front and back of it. offset will help on the steering and the back wall (where seat belts bolt through) but nothing but cutting or hammering to be crude will give you a bigger hole to fit bigger tyres

Oh, so if you leave the arb on, it will not hit, other than mudflaps/bumper edge and perhaps inner arch at front that can be hammered back ?

if your going 32" your going to be trimming about 1/2" off the cill area. the rusty bit you had before, basically nice clean cut with a stainless blade and your laughing

The tyres will fit on the std rim but the std rim hasn't got enough offset for the fatter tyre to clear the body tub. That's why extreme and me use a big offset rim like 31 or something rings a bell. You can use spacers to achieve the same thing but you might as well spend the bucks on some tidy wheels
33" tyres will fit without cutting but will need 2" suspension or body lift AND some mr hammer action
Now 35s is where cutting is reqd and both lifts :naughty

So your talking about cutting off the rear of the cill where it protrudes into the wheel arch, also +30mm spacers on rear

Then on front, mudflaps off, bumper corners trimmed and front inner arch bulge hammered flat at back of arch.

Is the 30 mm spacer required on front then ?

melissachels as per the post on what mud tyres you have as a test (265/70/16) are the same diameter as my 31/9.50/15.

I have a 2" body lift and the front rub here arrowed when full lock... So a slight bit of hammering is needed.

Probably won't be much worse rubbing without the body lift or susp lift, But I never had them on without lift. So can't say.

Also running 0 offset rims, Which basicly means 20mm spacers as the standard terrano rim has +20mm offset (towards the engine).

If its just where arrowed then a grinder would sort that, perhaps mig weld a bit more plate in and underseal again, no biggie as there is so much excess space there, under wing and on end of cill.
