What another great weekend.
I would like to thank Davemud & Tub for organising it.
Also thank thoes that turned up.
Jocky,Terranoman, & Dinky. plus their family.
It is a pity that thoes in higer places did not take as much interest.
The way the the club is now run, I can see this being the last national Rally.

Well just got back from a cracking weekend, hot weather plenty to talk about.Agree with last post this club has no direction now just pay your£10 then download fixes and go.Keep on with rally might have to change name as a meet.

Good to hear you all had a great time.

As I said to Dave on Thursday, I was committed to another function this weekend. There were about 120 of us there and a great weekend was had by all + we raised £3,500 for the local Gateway club :thumb2

With regard to the way this club is run now... are you saying that if no one holds your hands then nothing will get done :doh

Before it was pay your £10 before you could do anything.... and most didn't stay after the first day, but most of you didn't know that ;) :augie

If you want more to attend the rallies then maybe it needs to cater for the majority and not the very small minority ;)

Well thanks a lot well at least we made an effort if only to cater for the Very Small Minority. :lol:lol

This rally was open to all to attend, we could have had any amount of activities going on

But due to the past running of the club some members lost faith with the rallies, and what was done with the money raised.

BUT most never even bothered coming any way NO MATER WHAT YOU OFFERED them.

All attending this year are the die hard core members some have never missed any of rallies at all :thumbs

Glade to see you had such a good turn out and was able to raise so much money for a good cause :thumbs
I only hope you can do the same for this club as well. Then we can enjoy a great rally as well :clap:clap

Bat what exactly do you mean by the last sentence:nenau

As already stated, this was open to all and whatever people wanted could have been arranged, but with so little interest nothing was arranged.

:clap

Had a great time and enjoyed meeting everyone and also going to Sibbertoft (on a hunt for second hand parts) and meeting some more.

I think there's a few teddy's and dummies laid around on the floor at the moment but I'm sure they will get picked up and everything will move on.

I don't think thats particularly fair BAT , I enquired early doors but couldnt commit to going so didnt ;)

However I always felt there was an open invitation and welcome if the better half and I wanted to go, in fact planning to meet up with individuals concerned at other do's.(Again wide open invitations by my understanding)

If the invitation is there its up to people to take it up , attend and join in or suggest other passtimes or do your own funky thing day time (which gives me a chance to say sod the fishing boys :) ) and join in the caravaners popular method of socialising on an evening

Cant see the problem myself :thumb2

national Rally

I am glad you made so much money at your event.
If you had spent more time concentrating on the club that you run, then perhaps with the help of us minority we might have made a lot more.

I didn't make any money, it was raised for the local Gatway Club :doh

The other site I run hosts approximately 8 national events every year, collectively they raise about £20k per year for charities chosen by those who organise the events. I have no involvement in organising the events, I simply provide the 'vehicle' for the organisers to promote said events.... which is how I see my role here.

Clearly my comments here have offended some... that was not my intention so, I'll not comment any further.

national Rally

No offence to you as I have never met you.
But I have been a member since the start, and attended every rally.
we ran auctions to buy everything for the club.
What has happened.
We were at this rally with no marque, we have bought a few, so why were they used at the
Jap & Jeep rally.
What has happened to all the money that was made for the club.

I think you need to ask the previous guy who ran the club these questions.

All I got when I took over was a few T shirts, fleeces and stickers... oh and a £5k hole in the bank.

see you can all argue without me:augie

id like to point out that 6 months ago everyone discussed moving the national to the jeep jam . several of us wanted to move it to the jeep jam including me.
however our vote was not the most popular so the national was to stay at the same venue.
however i couldnt commit, as a few couldnt for lack of funds...
less than 2 weeks ago me and makeitfit suggested we would attend the national on the saturday afternoon - sunday morning . only to be told you was all going to the jeep jam for the day

so we gave up on the idea of showing loyalty to the national meet even though we couldnt really afford it, but we wanted to make the numbers up for the club. and as stated earlier , it wasnt even our prefered choice of destination

so we gave up on the idea and stayed at home

ok bats choice of words wernt the best re the minority bit ,

but its our club its up to us to create events etc. any club is what you make of it and what you put into it

look at elty he's always arranging meets and events and has my full respect for that. he is a fabulous member and he dont get the hump if bat dont turn up cos he's busy

loads of people do stuff behind the scenes and here in full view to make this club what it is

we have all tried clubs / forums where the boss runs a tight ship and interfears all the time. this club is allowed to run itself basicly

all thats needed is more interest in these events.

if you want them we can put them on

Sorry we couldn't make it but it sounds like you had fun even without us:augie
I know what it's like putting on events, it's the same old same old doing it all the time:doh
Personally got over all the bull you get years ago.I've run several sailing events over the years. If you want to put an event on for your interests, well just do it is my moto:D
I'd be more interested in an event that involves some offroading action:sly
But that may not be what the tin tenters want and so on.
So anyway thanks for working hard to put it on, but dont stress yourself a :thumbs

national Rally

As i said I have been here since the start. I have put every thing into this club to keep it going. we used to have 100s of members at the rally and all newbees were welcome.
But this year it has gone to the dogs.
It had been advertised all year so no excuses.
You can only do so much.
This club was the best thing going.
Now its the best club going.
Will always stay faithful to the club.
But other clubs are catching up fast.

well im glad your staying. but the club can only be as good as what we are prepared to put into it. this has not been the best year for anyone

so come on lets all stop the throwing of the toys and all work together.

remember
today is the first day of the rest of our lives.
lets not get grumpy or fall out.... lets instead work harder but together to make this place the baest it can be:thumbs

Quite right, come on Team England :)eek: err what 'ave I said )
More off road action for me please:D

The national was arranged a good while back arrangements were made originally to suit members who wanted to attend the airshow (None of whom turned up see start of threads).

Bookings were arranged and venues picked. Just because a jap and jeep pops up some months later and a very small few are interested does that mean you cancel the original plans? If that happened on all meets it would be chaos.

The National was and should stay a meet for all to attend with there familys with activities for all the family..

Ok so the boys want to go offroading do the wife and kids want the same?
Ok so the boys want to go and look at a car show again does that thrill the whole family??

I hope you get my drift.

Some members be it only a small daft few bought there motors to drive to work in of ferry the kids to school or pack the dog and camping gear in etc etc You know the mundane everyday stuff. For the very small few it is even classed as the family car..

I know us small majority are all daft as we don't spend all our money modding the motors with fat tyres and 2" lifts then moan that we ain't got the money to take the familly away for the weekend.

Some of us small majority do not have wifes and kids who enjoy driving through muddy tracks or walking about car fairs. I know it's strange ain't it.

Two years ago we had 50 peeps at the rally and it was good. But the site was more of a mix then. Now it just seems to be full of mud pluggers who will go anywhere to offroad and need all the fancy tyre's and crap that goes with it.

Don't get me wrong there are loads more smaller meets now than there ever where.

But the National was like I say for all to attend no matter what your interest and it included the family.

What it has shown is there is no interest for that type of event within the club. And sadly the small numbers that were interested are now looking in other directions.

And give the money situation a break most peeps are in the same boat don't go on about it.

Anyway enougth of my crap.
Lets not turn this into another long winded argument lets end it here and if something can be learned from it then thats good.

The familys that went had a great time and that is what should be remembered.
