Mystery button next to steering wheel (LHS) Terrano

Does anyone know what my mystery button does? Its on the dash below and left of the steering wheel. It has a picture of the car with a 'radar' style diagram over it. Pressing it doesnt seem to do anything noticeable.

Ejector seat?

Something to turn off alarm sensor on the interior.when leaving dog/kids in car.

I have the same on the right of my steering wheel, it I believe disables the interior sensor.

Yep, press and hold until the little red light on the dash flashes, then exit the car and lock it via the remote.
