I wouldn't worry about it if you don't plan on re-using it, if I've ever had to remove a drag link before that needed to be re-used, I would remove the original castle nuts and fit a set that I keep in the tool box for this job, I wind them back onto the threads as far as they will go leaving a protrusion past the end thread that you can beat the crap out of with a lump hammer.

4-5 blows with a 4lb hammer usually frees them up :thumbs

If you've got a new one, just smash it out. Keep hold of the old one though!!!! We can drill them out and mod them if you ever get your big boy pants on and do the super strong steering job setup :naughty

Ha, I'm going to wear TWO pairs of big boy pants :lol

Whipped it off relatively easy, it must have been quite worn as now the new one is on the steering is all over the place :lol

I've adjusted the tracking today after replacing the relay bar, I put two pieces of cardboard under each wheel so they could slip easy then figured out a centre Mark on the piece of masking tape I stuck on the anti roll bar and took measurements from the inside of the tyres.
I first got the distance between the inside of the tyres and my centre Mark equal. Then I took measurements from tyre to tyre, one measurement from front of tyre and one from the back, then I adjusted till they were the same. After doing that I started the truck and gave the steering a good shake.
I set the steering wheel to centre then adjusted the wheels so I had a bit of toe in.
It took a couple of short drives and some re-adjustment but I can't believe how close I have got it :D :D
It drives great now.

Sounds interesting but doubt very much if you will get accurate tracking from that method, tyre wear will tell, Rick

I've got some new tyres coming, I'm going to get them.fitted, balanced and tracking done in one go hopefully.
It just drove so bad after fitting the new link bar that I had to do something about it, it was actually toe out When No measured.

I've made some improvements to my roof rack today.
I had two waffle boards mounted underneath it in a sort of tray, was fine but I could not stop the rattle, and bangs over speed bumps etc.
So I welded two pieces of threaded bar upright, they go through the boards to secure them with a plate and nut, and I have added an extra waffle board too :D
I have cut a piece of mesh out, I have some small box section too, going to put a couple of crossmembers in and cut the mesh to size and weld in.

It's the little things mate :naughty

Nice tyres!
Still a shame that Toyo doesn't make them in the right size for my Pajero

I got my new tyres fitted :D I had to cut a bit off the front bumper before I could even set off from the tyre fitters :lol

It drives fantastic now, I replaced the relay bar and put some bushes in the front arb droplink and It was better, but these bigger tyres have made a massive improvement!!
I think the bigger diameter coupled with the fuel adjuster box work really well with the standard gear ratios, it just drives really really well :D:thumb2
