Will need to get a 12 volt free veiw box or somehow convert one that runs on 240 v so it'll work on 12.

We bought a couple of set top boxes from Asda a couple of years ago and they are 12v input from the little wall wart. I doubt the packaging will tell you this info it'll be a case of explain to staff and ask if they can open the packaging and check the output voltage of the power supply.
Most run off 5v or 12v. Most of the early ones had direct 240v in.
