You can reduce the change of splitting MDF if you use a wall plug, drill the correct size hole, 10mm too deep so the dust does not block the plug

Talking of dust...
Avoid breathing it, wear a mask, when cutting, sanding etc

Be aware when you sleep, you will sweat a few pints of water over night, on our boat we find " condensation " below even a plywood base, so seal the MDF with an MDF sealer.

I should of said that myself about sealing the mdf:thumb2
 
done more work on my storage today as well as yesterday and got it 80% complete, just need to carpet it all and wire up the light i fitted underneath so illuminate the storage ares and then its finished, as you can see i borrowed some caravan pillows to test it, will get a custom pillow/matress made.......or a water bad:lol:lol:lol:naughty:naughty:naughty

If you must screw into it , don't screw into the "end grain". Instead, predrill and screw into the flat sides and use piano hinge to spread the load :thumbs

Thats what I've done, I used fat wide hinges:D, I'll put a pic up tomorrow:thumb2
 
tobys gonna way quite heavy on the back end mate by the time hes finished gonna cost a bit more in diesel or veg whatever ur choice:augie ps have u used the left hand side bearer for tamping concrete recently:lol

Lol, this bed/storage is only in the vehicle when needed, its nor perminant, can slide in and out, and that's paint on the LH bearer, used to be a fence:lol, will all be sanded down and carpeted :thumb2
