... Is fooked :lol

Checked it about 2 months ago and it had some play but not much, just did rear wheel cyl and thought hmm I'll have a look at front end as the play felt worse now when driving and the wheel snatched sometimes on braking and it had got a little bit worse to say the least ...:augie

Now I need to sort it before Sunday as going laning in Shropshire/Wales again ffs :doh

Do you reckon that's just the bushes worn In the idler, or do you think the shaft is worn too ?

Wondering if I can get away with the bushes as they are like £10 on eBay

best bet is to do the makeitfit steering mod, Shouldn't cost much to do yourself.

I am doing that, but I need a tempory fix as I'm not gonna be able to complete that by Saturday ...

cancel saturday and fix it then come out with us on the 26th ;)

Can't mate :(

Besides, going Bakewell protest on 25th so that's my quota of fuel for that weekend

you sure thats just the idler, seems a lot of movement in the wheel for it to just be that

There's a bit in bearing will try and adjust that it probably equates to 30% of the movement seen

Had a bar on all the ball joints and bushes, you can see the movement in the idler tho everything else is fine, like relay link and track rods

I did 180 miles round trip taking in some extreme lanes in craven arms with that a few weeks ago, that's probably why it's now in that state ... Not very clever tbh, but shows how tough thse trucks are :D

Toy town steering idlers :lol
Go for the bushes first mate , easy fix for another few weeks

Cncfabs has sorted me out with a decent idler :)

Cool, if it has a grease nipple stuff it silly. If not there's a blank where it should be. Drill, tap and screw in a new nipple :thumbs

I'll crack on with your modded box mate, just need to work out where to get the 1" standoffs from

Are they m10 ?

Damn it crimbo merryment has addled me brain, erm I think they're M12
You can make your own with some 25mm offcut steel lumps and drill a hole through 'em. Ask your local smithy :D

Hmm, I'll ask my mate at the Engineering place in town, who is called pete actually
