I got myself a wee MR2 back in April because my megane was out of MOT & had no logbook to get it MOT'd (you need one here for it's 1st if its a mainland car) & the Surf had went on holiday after its trip to Portugal (fuel issue).

I needed a car & thought why not.

nice looking wee thing with a few issues but nowt major

had her for a few months now and my list of to do's is just getting longer

shakey steering when going over 60 so I'll need to get wheels balanced, tracking done etc I've found a spot where a weight was missing today.

leaking front shock absorber

snatchy brakes - Check calipers, discs & pads

hole in passenger inner wheel arch

noticed some rust on the bottom of the door & wing appearing so I though I'd get it sorted before winter.....

out came the wire brush....and the rust just kept showing up, so I thought i'd take the wing off to repair it properly.

Most awkward thing ever to get off, took a good few hours thanks to so many hidden bolts :doh

and of course being a jap build motor...there's more tin worm....the whole wheel arch :bow:doh:doh:doh:doh

:doho I spent today making cardboard cut outs and cleaning up the inside of the wing.

I'll get pics up tomorrow :)

I'm a sucker for a 90's project

You like keeping yourself busy:D
You don't fancy buying a boring Ford Fiasco to poodle around in then:lol

Next time we see it it'll of been made into a go kart :thumbs

When you've fixed that up can I bring my mg across the water to get fixed up:doh

Flipping heck I thought it was a terrano there was so much rust lol. You can sort it:thumbs

MR2 mean looking motor !

Always liked the Mk2 MR2 we had the earlier model a Mk 1 a White G plated T Bar it was the wife's wheels I tried not to drive it very often as it made me grow horns and drive like I was possessed.
No picture to upload as it was way back in 1991 before digital cameras were affordable. All our old negatives and prints are in the loft waiting to be scanned so far have scanned about 1600 oldies with a lot more to go !

We had it for 7 years until someone pulled out of a side road and hit it in the nearside front door. It was repaired OK but the wife just lost faith in it after the door, wing and quarter panel were replaced plus miles of plastic skirting etc.

We replaced it with a Mercedes 230 E manual for the London commute back in the day when she worked for a firm on Grosvenor Street and rented a flat in North Finchley.
