Now I have "almost" retired at 74 I am now able to look at some long awaiting projects, one is to get rid of thousands of feet of old cine film, 10 or more Hi 8 video tapes and god knows how many VHS/VHSC tapes, but of course before I ditch them they need to be copied to digital format, so this is what I will be doing over the next few weeks/months, I will have all the kit needed in the next few days so watch this space, Rick

My cine goes back to 1962 when I was 15, makes interesting watching, Rick

i converted a vhs tape using a video converting usb stick, was not costly and worked well, only thing is its live time so takes as long as it takes but if watching you can cut the bits out you do not want.played back on other pc etc ok.

What did you use to read the VHS tape? Rick

DVD in my opinion is unreliable crap, so ordered a USB capture device in order to see if this is any better, Rick

Glad I delayed ordering the capture device as my Hi8 camera and leads arrived today and a capture device is included it is a ClimaxDigital and works well, Rick
