The Whelen (sp) flasher one, that does the side marker lights is audibly noisy, it uses relays to isolate the circuits, and so I could not accidentally leave them on, I mounted the control box on the rear base speaker box, so they make a very clear ticking in the car, using the back box as an echo chamber. It seemed a good idea at the time, but they might move soon, as sitting stationary in the car for any period of time, and the noise starts to wear thin.. The Jeep is a very quiet car, so noises like that really sound.
There are not really any places to fit extra switches on the Jeep, so I have used touch sensor switches in the roof console to control the various lights. They are quite small, and glow blue at night. Basically, when doing road searches with the search and rescue guys, it is better for the searchers, if you can turn off the lights facing them, so if I am at the rear, I just have rear lights on, or at the front, just front lights. So each set of lights has it's own switch. The top lights are operated by remote control, then the whole lot can be turned off, with one isolator switch mounted in the lower dash, when they are not needed at all.
