This is my 13 week old baby girl, because her veins are so small this is the only way they can give her the meds she needs

Well the good news is Birmingham Childrens Hospital have sent us home for xmas, the bad news is the infection still isn't clearing so we have to return in 2 weeks time with the possibility of a transplant occuring, I really do have to say what super accomodation they provided, all wehad to pay was a £20 deposit for the room key and buy our own food that was it, the bedroom they gave us had ensuite bathroom with shower, there was a family eating and tv area aswell as an adults only tv area and a games room with xboxes and the like for the kids to play on, we were made to feel more than at home, so in the new year the wife and I have decided it would be nice to raise some money for the charity that runs these mini hotels (the one we were in has 60 rooms for families to stay in while their kid/s are in hospital) and they are trying to raise 1.5 million to build another one in manchester, so if anyone has any ideas for a fundraiser please let me know.

P.S Merry christmas to you all

Me too, when we went to Great Ormond Street to stay overnight two nights and days running in order to learn how to cope with a little girl we were to foster, we had no facilities at all other than rudimentory tea making and a sort of couch to sleep on, with hospital staff in and out all the time, I would sleep while Maggs saw to the girls needs, then I would take over, my god were we glad to get the girl home and some comfort, still 24/7 care but once we got organised it was a whole lot better than the hospital, I am not knocking the hospital the staff were great, they just did not have the facilities, Rick

She looks lovely! One of my daughters spent quite a few weeks in special baby care with tubes and machines going beep and it is a worry, but she is a livley, clever, and naughty girl who turns 6 in a couple of weeeks, fine and happy!

So all the worry is worth it in the end, all the best to you and yours! :thumb2

No real new news until we go back to birmingham on the 29th to find out if the infection has cleared or not, if it hasn't cleared the dr said they will more than likely be looking at doing a liver transplant.

Sorry ive only just found this thread but i wish u and ur family the very best of luck and happiness. What a beautiful baby girl u have.

well my baby girl is a little smaller than the average 5 month old but she is coming on in leaps and bounds, we now only have to goto birmingham childrens hospital every 2 month which is good and now she only has to have blood tests every 4 weeks which is great. :thumb2:thumb2
