Has anyone got "one of those guys" that doesent mind printing off an MOT :augie

If you know anyone drop me a pm plz...

I'm not actually due until February but am planning ahead to find an er... Alternative mot station if you catch my drift :augie

Please.. No lecture on safety, just a quiet pm would do :naughty

personally , even if I did know one , I wouldn't use it , and I certainly wouldn't tell others to either .........but maybe that's just me ..... your choice mate

Do NOT forget the MOT only says it was to code at the time it was done, you could still get nicked 100M down the road:eek:

I know of one but I ain't telling no one on the internet even by pm.

I wouldn't go down that route myself either. Are you worried your terrano won't pass?

There is no reason why a vehicle used for green landing should fail an mot, if there is then you need to seriously consider sorting it. Mots are for every road users safety.

Kind regards

Russell.

Well yes thats why I am asking. My terrano is mechanically sound PLEASE BE ASSURED! however, the bumpers n mods may not go down well in some peoples eyes.

This is why Im asking :doh

Just take it to a MOT station (Not a kwik fit one) and find out. If they don't pass it then look at getting some better profiled bumpers. Or maybe a winch tray and standard bumper.

You were happy enough to talk about going down a engine transplant mod which would of been expensive and near impossible... And dodgy MOTs...
But you won't think about changing your bumpers... you can get a proper decent front winch bumper for about £180!

Consider that the bumpers could fail for good reason ie even at low speed you could cause a pedestrian a lot more suffering, your car may be mechanically sound but bodywork sticking out is a problem that needs assessing correctly.

Kind regards

Russell.

Dangerous Parts Mot will not help you !!

If the front end of your truck without the proper bumper is deemed dangerous you could fall foul of the Coctruction & Use Regulations 1986 under dangerous parts sub section 100 if you were pulled up by a Traffic Police Car the MoT would not be relevant and its endorsable.

Worse still if you have not declared the changes in full to your insurer you could find yourself with Third Party Road Traffic Act cover only. This means you are only insured for personal injury to others (not yourself) and have no damage cover whatsoever.

You need to check that any modifications are recorded in your policy booklet do not rely on a verbal account only when the policy was taken out.

This would also mean that in the event of an accident you could be sued personally through the High Court for damage to any other vehicle involved also by the local authority for damage to roadside furniture signs etc. Plus Ambulace and Fire Brigade turn out charges! This puts your home at risk if you are a homeowner.

Well im fairly sure I still know a guy who will sort me out anyway, just means I have to cram into busy wembley at some point.

I cant see a problem with the bumpers myself, I can imagine they might want me to chop off the little tow lug that pretrudes the bumper though.

The other thing I was worried about is no anti roll bars at the rear, the whole assembly is gone.

oh and my exhaust (or lack of)

rolls bars are no bother but the exhaust is a fail

Not a bad idea, ive been thinking about a pre mot assesment to check what it might fail on...

whatcha reckon?

better than loosing my current MOT :naughty

Id just go get it tested and see what it fails on. No point trying to get around it any other way you might well be suprized might not need anything for an MOT.

Cheers Gav

Tis a bad idea though, once it fails, it over rules your current MOT you see, so a pre test is definately needed in my case.

What does the law state for exhausts then? - can I just have a small can on the end of the pipe that points the fumes out from the underside of the cab? :nenau

how sure are we ARBS dont fail? my old plate that it once bolted to is all sheared..

Alex - IMHO I think are very, very silly to even consider that way to get an MOT cert. Even more so plastering it all over the forum and internet, you just don't know who is who and where they work :(

And it once it's on the www it's there for good and for all to see...

Boy oh Boy.... what a ...king idiot
:doh:doh:doh

You get my vote of no confidence... :doh

So as said above, we all know your vehicle,
We all know what it looks like.
We all know that you now believe that you are driving a vehicle with potential defects. The defence of "I didn't know." .. no longer stands as a defence as from TODAY...:doh
We all know your vehicle registration number.
We now all know when your MOT is due
We all know you are looking for a bent MOT
We all can assume that when you get your next MOT it is most likely going to be from a crook, who should be put behind bars for his crimes.

So when the police finally put two and two together, and thanks to your evidence printed on sites like this, a group of criminals could be going to jail, now some of them won't be going to prison, I think they will be able to find out where you live, as chief witness to the crime, your details will be published in the newspapers. Mind you, you shouldn't worry, you'll be in the next cell.

I hope that you and your family sleep well.:doh
Please don't bring your dodgy vehicle within 20 miles of me and my family, and I would think many other members on here.

My Brother in law is a retired police officer, my late Father in Law was a retired Police Sergeant. My next door neighbour is with the police force too.

Hmm.... it's not only the people you know that you should worry about either.

I just cannot believe what you write on the " World Wide Web"
:doh:doh

boy oh boy...:surrender

I give up...

I am on holiday at the moment, have been for three weeks, I have looked in, but this is the first time I have resorted to comment.

If we even consider using this site for the encouragement of crimes, to which bent MOTs are, then I will bid you all good day...

I suggest that the moderators discuss this and delete this entire thread....

What a plonker !!
