Mav passed it's MOT today, no problems. A couple of weeks ago I replaced the ARB drop links, and checked all suspension and brakes, couldn't see any problems.
I was concerned about the emissions as I do mostly short journeys now, so I took her out last Saturday for a 100 mile burn.
I put some redX in with the fuel, ran her for a few days, then took her for a burn (a good thrashing..) got her warm first, Red lined her in every gear, drove her 30 miles then 1/2 filled tank with Shell V power, I read on an earlier thread that this burns more cleanly.
Thrashed her to top speed for a while to clear out the cobwebs and drive out the moisture.
I can feel the difference, more responsive and quieter and no smoke. (except slightly on start up)

The emission results were as follows...
Turbo eng result Limit < 3.00 l/m actual 1.15 l/m
Fast pass result Limit < 1.5 l/m actual 1.15 l/m

Well within the limits for a 13 year old Standard Turbo 2.7 TD:clap
What values do others get?
Best regards, Rustic

Mine seems to be expressed a bit differently - refers to the test generally as 'Fast Pass' but just has an 'Acceleration 1' value, not the ones you quote above, but on a 2.7TDi before I got to work in it, it was 1.35

Yes it also says Acceleration 1 as 1.16 l/m, and the test was called fast pass.

Looking back at the earlier tests, 2005 they were around 1.66 1.88 and were even higher the year before as 2.88 2.77 close to the limit
In 2002 they were 2.81 - 2.94 and the vehicle was serviced by a Nissan dealer as well.

So my strategy has really improved my emissions by a factor greater than 2..:clap AND do ALL the servicing and repairs yourself..

shows how stringent the test has become though doesn't it....no bad thing I suppose given what we breathe in these days!

My car could not pass the mot last year because the emissions were too low.
The machine kept saying that the probe had fallen out.
The garage thought that there machine was playing up so they took my car to there other place and got the same results. they ended up putting my car through the diesel cat test and it passed the stricter test easily.

my results two years ago were 0.28ppm and at the last mot they were less than 0.20ppm
I dont use any additives, I use supermarket standard diesel the only thing that i do is drive the car hard a couple of times a week

Mines on the same test as lacroupade

Test limit applied - 1.50 l/m

Absorption Coef 0.83 l/m - Zero Drift 0.02l/m
