Hi all,
This may seem a strange Question, but how long are the drain tube for the sun roof, and were do they exit the body,? I have had a problem recently with a leak dripping in through the switch cover and the manual winding cover. I shoved a stiff piece of wire a good 4ft down the holes and thought i had cleared them the other day, but the dripping is back today!
I have taken all the covers off so there isn't a build up around the switches!

Sun roof drains into the sills:doh:doh

Sometimes the tube at the sunroof end splits, where it attaches to the sun roof, allowing water to escape.:thumb2

They exit the body towards the front of the sills behind mud flaps. Try opening the doors and squirting a hose pipe behind the bottom hinge, all the crud collects down in that area and blocks the tubes. Not a bad idea to remove plastic wheel arch liner and mud flap at front to give it a real good clean out and may be under seal.

As Rustic say's the tubes sometimes come off the drain above roof lining.

My sunroof leaked, it was the seal around the actual glass on mine. Squirted a black automotive sealer between glass and seal all the way around.

on my trol i had rain water dripping from the passingers grab handle on the roof. the pipe that fixes to the drain hole in sun roof had come off if i remember correctly.. simple fix

roof drains

Yeah on my old 300 TE 4-matic water would run out of the corner of the nearside sun visor when going round left hand bends. Water rusted out the front interior light / seat belt illumination light.

Traced it to pipe had split where it fits the sun roof frame. Luckily enough pipe to shorten by half an inch and re-fit. Bit of a job getting at it though.
