er ... round black rubber ones that say bridgestone dueller h/t , joking apart i think they are 235/75/r15 ... i have now put 30 front 31 rear and strangely enough all seems ok :nenau

its really strange , i increase the pressure in the front by 1 psi , and decrease the pressure by 1 psi in the rear ..... and it seems ok .... wtf ?:nenau

Right then hears the spanner in the works, I have 235/75/15 run at 30 psi all round the tyre tread wear is even and 2 1/2 years old 200 miles a week + drag a tin tent. Why 30 psi? less rolling resistance = more mpg. If you don't beleave that push a car with partially inflated tyres then blow them up and try.

As for the problem I had similar thing when my rear brakes needed adjusting, rear not working and the front doing all the work causing it to dive under braking.

thats the phrase i was looking for when i said the brakes where strange :thumb2 .... diving under braking , it sorta dips and swerves when braking hard

But 30 PSI is higher than the manufacturer's recommendation for the vehicle and size of tyre. And you risk loosing traction with them overinflated. Can someone with the same size tyres on a T2 check what it says on the sticker?

hm .... i think ive found the problem .... on close inspection there is a dark patch on the o/s front tyre , its about 3 inches across ,it smells like oil and is thickish

Trouble getting on Pete, if it is not brake fluid, then there is not a lot else on the hub, grease in the hub itself, oil in the shocker, thats about it, so I suspect crap off the road, and as you say sorting your tyre pressures seems to have helped, no mate not a caravan Warners chalets, just cannot think of the name but only a stones through from Caister, Rick

update

stuart and nick have crawled under the car with the big torch , they said they cant see any obvious leaks , but there is oil on the tyre and also a bit on the plastic inner trim

if it is brake fluid it will wash of with water, check it as a mater of urgency mate, if it is just oil then nothing to worry about, all you need to get yoyr mate to do is wipe it with a wet cloth then look at the cloth if it is non dissolving oil no problem, if it is mixing with the water in the cloth then take it to a garage tomorrow, brakes are just too much of a risk, Rick
