Hi all.
Took my 2.4 petrol Terrano to Kirton off road today. Surprised at what a mostly standard vehicle is capable of!
My question is, what is the most likely cause of a misfire crossing shallow water? Fan didn't go in, and a quick look under the bonnet showed dry plugs & leads...
Misfire gone after a short while as everything dried out.
Any suggestions gratefully received!
Thanks, Gary.

Ign coils if I'm not mistaken

Or dizzy if it's got one,

I'm a diesel so forgive me if it doesn't have one but one of those will have got wet, solarman216 will advise you on this :thumb2

The coil is mounted just behind the rad on most 2.4 and gets wet with the slightest look of water, the wiring can be stretched to get it up on the bulkhead, that is where I put mine on my off road 2.4 and never had any trouble even in deep water with a snorkel, Rick

Thanks very much guys!
I'll scrape the mud & crap off it, and move the coil out of the way!
