Hi guys, can anyone help please.

I seem to have developed what i would describe as a bit of a misfire, i will try and explain...

when i set off with low end revs i get almost like a stutter or misfire, also if i am cruising along at say 30mph and i slightly accelerate the same occurs...

Any ideas?

Also, some time ago i fitted a boost gauge for the turbo and have noticed that lately the boost doesnt seem to get any higher than about 9psi...

Any ideas?

have a look at the maf on the air inlet pipe, Bosch = Bosch, Hitachi = the other one, was your boost pressure higher before, and is this very recent or been going awhile, Rick

i fill up every week and i havent noticed if it was when i have filled up....it may be worth changing the fuel filter do you think....i changed it about 6 months ago if not sooner...

What could be causing the lower boost pressure and how do i improve it without replacing the turbo....?

If this is coincidence then it is startling, but yesterday a mate had very similar problems on a L200 but the vehicle was not available until today, suspected fuel problems so changed the fuel filter, but did not like the look of the fuel that came out, fortunately he had used most of his last fill up, after changing the filter it was marginally better, so I told him to go to local station and fill up then run a few miles, when he came back he said great it is cured, so he bottled the fuel we got from the filter and while it had a very small amount of water in it did not explain what had happened, but I was not happy with look of it so on impulse removed the top for a sniff, PETROL, so yes change the filter and check your fuel, Rick

I should clarify, he did not fill up with petrol, he put £30 derv in and soon after it was running bad, so the bottle was to go back to the station and claim, Rick

yes it is and I have to ask, was it a local error, hard to imagine a tanker driver dumping petrol into a derve tank as they usually only top up when nearly empty=too high a petrol to derv ratio, so leads me to think it was mixed at the distribution depot, with far reaching problem, but to get to your area???????????????????????????????Rick

Well a bit of an update on this...
Today i removed, cleaned and replaced my mini filter and the stuttering seems to have gone.....RESULT!!

I arent totally convinced it was completely clean as the gauze is so fine its difficult to tell, so i am gunna pop in my local Nissan Stealers and see about buying a new one just to be sure.

Do i remember reading on here somewhere about this filter been on the return pipe and not on the inlet side, if so would there be an issue with just breaking out the filter and putting back the banjo bolt without it....?

I cleaned mine with some foam cleaner worked a treat you could see all the crap coming off it
