Micra stereo question

Just put a cd stereo in my daughters n regd Micra, works great well that is til you turn engine on then terrible crackling through speaker, works fine with engine off, but only does this with radio on, with cd on its fine!! Really puzzled but also only one of the door speakers is working, will this be the problem? didnt know if it did this before as nissan stereo never worked.

in the good old days the radio needed suppressing from the electrical system

however not heard that it needed to be done for years

spark plugs

yeah your getting interference from the engine i suspect at sometime cheap spark plugs have been fitted or non supressed ones i had the same problem with a motor bike i use for training.

mechanic stuck in the correct plugs but non supressed ones only 1 letter difference but when the engine was running the radio my student was wearing crackled and whistle threw his ear piece took a bit of finding but i got there in the end. the radio was fine on all my other bikes so i new it was that particular bike and it didnt do it before it was serviced.

you know what the mechanic said, i didnt do it lol yes you did said i, no i didnt said he. well i fitted the old plugs and cured the problem and got my money back on them from him i now do all my own servicing again..

Ah right well recently put new coil pack on it as was slight misfire, but didnt cure it so mechanic changed plugs whilst doing the mot!! will have to see what the correct ones are and check..

Another place it could be coming from is alternator, I've seen interference suppressors in hallfords that are installed inline with the alternator.
