i met rick ( solarman ) and his beautifull wife maggie last night , in case some of you arent aware , rick has offered very generously to fit a replacement engine to sally and check her over .

rick is a amazing bloke and we had a interesting chat ( and a few drinks ) he had drove over 300 miles to meet me , and has a lot more miles to get back , totally amazing act of generosity and kindness :thumb2

he is going to pick sally up this morning and transport her back to essex so he can transplant the engine with his mate swifty .

thanks rick mate :thumb2

many kind regards and sincere thanks

pete

ps ..... hope the cd helps

totally and utterly, awesomly, astronomically amazing, what a guy. you just dont see this sort of kindness, generosity and darn helpfulness in "regular" life, its just so good to see, gives me back a lot of lost faith!

just had a call from rick and maggie .. they have picked sally up and are on their way to pauls , one hell of a long trip from here , plus then they are going back home , im sure you will all join me in wishing rick and maggie a safe journey and heartfelt thanks for such an amazing act of kindness :clap:clap

yep, just think what the world would be like if we were all like Rick..

does anyone know if rick got to pauls ok ? :nenau
He certainly did Pete.

I picked up the replacement engine this morning, it was as described and was without ancillaries.

Here she is in her chariot awaiting Ricks arrival

Once Rick arrived, it was time to commandeer the local farmer

As we gingerly approached Ricks truck, it was evident that his pride and joy was about to be pronged by Giles the impaler :D

Time to shorten the strap to give us a little more room

Engine pick up

Many thanks to the farmer and his perfect handling of his machine, had I any doubts about his expertise I would not have allowed him near my motor, but he was so precise I would have put my life in his hands no problem, thanks to Paul for collecting the engine, and giving good directions (which I failed to follow) 820 miles round trip and we now have Briggies motor in the yard (still on the trailer tonight) ready for Swifty to look at tomorrow, all I can say at this stage is that it is not big ends, it is not a good sound but as yet unidentified, I have only owned the Terrano since December 09 but what a motor, I bought it for towing and boy does it tow, with Briggies motor on the trailer we were grossing around 4.8 tonnes, and I found myself drifting to 70mph many times you could almost forget you had a trailer on the back, getting tired now so going to log off all the best to you all Rick ( I have a nice pic of the outfit but not sure how to load it in but will try)

I'm speechless!!! I think we should all stand in a circle and give ourselves a clap on the back. Everyone doing what they can to achieve a result. Really hope it all works out fine in the end. Definitely something magical going on here.:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2:thumb2
