Hi im new to this forum i was just wondering does anyone on here ever meet up and do any green laining? Im in the edinburgh area it would be a nice way to meet people.

I've met a few (now old) members from Scotland thanks to this site & been out laning with them:thumb2 sadly the laws are so different over the border with a great deal of the land & lanes being owned by land owners & not the local councils which makes driving on some of the lanes very hard as you have to get the go ahead from the land owner but finding out who that is can be very hard:doh

Yeh i used to green lane on a off road moterbike to many do gooders complaining i normally go up forestry tracks no one can say anything as long as your motor is road legel etc.

I usually organise a weekend jaunt in the summer here in wales, But only run 6 max trucks so not many spaces.

Actually mate the outdoor access rights don't apply to motor vehicles so unless the forestry tracks are public (very doubtful) then you shouldn't be on them with your truck unless you have the landowner's permission. (I work in agricultural/estate land law so I know how the access rights work).

Obviously it's up to you if you still go on them or not but they're not like greenlanes in England (ie. still part of the public road) so be warned you could find yourself in bother :thumbs

I live in Dundee and have to travel south of the border to get my greenlaning fix but am also a member of a good offroad site near Bridge of Earn which lets you go on with your own vehicle, although you can only get membership on an annual basis.

Phew, someone else said that, I was thinking that was it for me and off I went into the sunset.

Il admit, Ive never been proper off reading in mine, I do a 78mile round trip a day to work on the road and use the Terrano to go and see clients all over North West Scotland so I've got to keep it clean and presentable.

I do enjoy keeping it clean and polished when I can and gets a lot of admiration too out and about (don't see many Terranos up here let alone 3 doors).

Closest I get to off-roading is pulling the tipping trailer up a croft to the woodland at the top of the hill to get my logs and the Terrano does it every time in all weather.
