well despite putting FOUR mouse traps down with loads of peanut butter on ......... NUFFIN !!!!! ...... im bluddie disappointed

They have probably worked out what you are doing.

Instead try this...
Get a small piece of ply, attach a thin block of wood across it, place against the wall in a corner.
In the corner side put a piece of cheese.
Replace it every day for a week.
On the 8th day, put a razor blade on the edge of the block of wood, but don't put any cheese there today.

The mouse comes along looks over the edge of the block... looks left looks right ... Where's the cheese then?...

We don't have any neighbors....literally... nearest farm to us is a mile away.. just surrounded by fields, great for the Mistral, drove home down the river bank last week, took a dirt track off the road and followed the river to my gate.. nice!

I only saw one meece , was a tiny thing , but it was attempting to get into the bottom cupboard in the kitchen , ive moved stuff from there ...... apart from opening the top cupboards I don't think they can get any packets of food ......still no meeces ..

sugar

mix water and sugar together so its fairly thick, then spread it on some white bread. mice seem to love it. then a container that will contain it without hurting it (if you want it doing in a humain way to release outdoors.)

like in the cartoons, a shoebox upside down held us poorly with a bit of wood or something else to make is easy to wobble, like a toothpick, slightest touch from a mouse tail will cause the shoebox to drop closed, keeping it secure overnight.

Have you got the removeable kickboards on your kitchen cupboards??
if so set one or two traps under there replace the kickboards.
peanut butter is generally better than any other bait you dont want to go down the route of poison its aload of rubbish yes it does kill one or two but its just a way of keeping pest control companys in buisness so they have to keep doing the routine checks.

ive worked in pest control a while and never seem to fail with peanut butter
also check any warm areas they like to make beds by cookers seen it too many times actually found them in the bottom of a cooker before burned to a crisp must been trapped when the cooker got fired up lol

you can also get a bait box which fits the snapback trap inside they will find it more comfortable inside a box than in an open space.

any food that smells ham and corned beef usually work well too.

take into account it might take upto a couple of weeks for the little buggers to take the bait they are very wary of any changes in there enviroment and can take a while for them to get brave enough to have a nibble.

Also, they can smell human so clean the traps and wear gloves before touching them. Then tuck them in hidden areas as they love running through little tight tunnels and the like.

I have a battery powered electric shock trap, works a beauty bated with chocolate, however, in my shed where I deal with waste oil, I had to use poison as there was too many of the buggers. Haven't seen any trace of them there for a while now.

never use poison in the house!! you will get rid of live mice but will soon notice the smell of dead ones lol. trust me, me and my dad had to knock a hole in his conservatory wall to remove 3 dead rats . the smell was awful. also, surely if you catch a mice in a shoe box itd chew its way out within minutes?

had my traps down for ages , and kept refreshing the bait ( used 2 jars of crunchy peanut butter so far ) .....

well last night I heard a trap go off :naughty ..... so I went to investigate ....was a tiny mouse caught in the trap by its head .... but was still alive , was wriggling like mad trying to get out , but couldn't as half its head was covered in blood , after carefull thought I decided it wasn't gonna live much longer so scopped up the trap complete with dying meece , and double bagged it , ( by this time the wriggling had stopped ) .... and placed micky meece into the wheely bin .
