I have had a couple since the database was up and running. I'm sure they did it just to piss me off. Even more pissed off because they have closed all the police stations within a 10 mile radius.

Without getting into the debate off the other thread :naughty:naughty the insurance database is a cracker. The amount of bullshit and pain in the backside errors it has cut out for everyone is incredible.

I would sum it up by saying that at one time, as you are obliged to be insured, it was up to the driver to demonstrate that. Now the vast and I mean vast proportion of cars come back on the system with "insurance held" so no need to inconvenience anyone with the old style process (remember producers?) :thumb2:thumb2

In my defence, i did not know that the motorbike insurance had anything to do with the car insurance, they have not said they are going to refuse it as such but it may be void as they did not have the full details, they may ask for more money.

I was knocked off my bike in a hit and run, so the claim (Even though i did nothing wrong) went against me but it is classed as a no fault claim, so my broker said they may be ok with it, but knowing my luck, im not going to have a truck on the road this time tomorrow.

10 years full no claims i have with them on my other car and i had 5 years on the bike till some twat hit me, so even if you play by the rules, you still get shafted.

i know a guy who drove an ambulance, but he got flashed at traffic lights in his own car, because of his job he didn't tell his insurance about the fine and points, but they did find out and reimbursed his insurance premium and refused to insure him, he then went on to have problems with his works insurance, to cut a long storey short, he had to pay £700 out of his own pocket to keep his job,(access for ambulance) his car insurance when he eventually got cover went form £240 to £1900. :doh

At one time if you modded your car within reason (I used to replace shockers and springs on my saloon cars with a handling kit when the old ones needed replacing) they used to just say no prob thanks for telling us, now they bill you the minimum of an "admin charge" [/QUOTE]

My mate actually got a reduction for fitting Cooper S discs and wide wheels to his Mini traveller as it was seen as a safety improvement giving better grip and breaking:nenau Oh the good times

they were the good times too, and why did they make all the changes. cos its just making loads of young people not be able to get work and stuff especially in wales because the kids cant afford insurance
